1990 Score Earl Cunningham Bat Obscenity Mystery

This card has intrigued me for 20 years now. Periodically I pick them up hoping to find a copy without the edit. For anyone who enjoys these weird junk era mysteries, Cunninhgam's card has an edited bat knob a la the 1989 Fleer Bill Ripken but to date, no unedited copy has surfaced. Here is a...

    1992 Topps Gold Winners

This is not totally true. Maybe slightly less than winners but there are at minimum 12,000 factory sets of non-winners plus all the ones inserted into products and factory sets and winning runs game mail-in redemptions. Had Topps not issued those Gold sets, this would be true.

    1990 Score and Sportflics Promos

Correct. Every blue border player has a promo version. I’ve seen several over the last 15 years, mostly commons. Jeff Russell and Fred McGriff have been listed in the Gilkeson E&V guides since 1990.

Anyone have a contact at PSA who can help add a set/set info?

2008 Warner Bros. / PGM The Dark Knight But the majority of these situations are Baseball focused since that is what I specialize in. I'm assuming PSA doesn't have a different person handling each category for new set info?

Anyone have a contact at PSA who can help add a set/set info?

I am having incredible difficulty getting PSA to grade a fully licensed, USA made and distributed, mass market non-sport card set. Set is listed in TCDB, graded by SGC and is a major release. I have sent them everything they could possibly need to "verify" the cards, down to the still-active...

Definitely this. Can confirm that no oversized 1990 Topps cards were sent to dealers.

    PROMOS/SAMPLES/PREVIEWS/PROTOTYPES/PRE-PRODUCTIONS/TESTS

Leema seems to have a great source for early UD proof stuff, I love looking through his listings. There was someone on this board (or maybe the CU or old Beckett forums) who posted a 100ct lot of the Gary Sheffield. This was many, many years back and I haven't seen evidence of others in bulk...

Prospectors - Is Zach McKinstry someone to chase for "investment"?

Even Beaty has had a slight increase. I tried to start a small collection of his tougher cards and often get outbid. This is after being mostly priced out of collecting Muncy the last three+ years with very little competition.

COMC (check out my cards) shipping wait times

Wow, these updates are horrible. I’m sorry to hear that other are going through similar things. After filing a complaint with the state of WA and complaining not on their Facebook, a rep reached out to me but it has been two weeks of “we are looking into it” regarding the 20+ missing cards from...

COMC - Anyone have anything positive to say in 2021? (2022 UPDATE) (2023 UPDATE)

Absolutely no progress on my five+ emails to them regarding my missing items. Order arrived on 3/6 with 25 cards missing from the package. Not tampered with, just never made it in. The majority of them have increased in price considerably since, their absence forced me to miss the PSA price...

PM sent. Also, I recall that when i went over the scans of this kit, I couldn’t find the Grips card they show. Maybe it was nixed?

1990 Donruss Red / Red card?

As I stated previously in response to your email, this specific batch of red/red player combos should not also appear as blue/white or aqueous test proofs. There should be (at least) three separate groups of player combos without an checklist overlap between them.

Oh wow! Thank you. I could’ve sworn I had been bidding on these but I must have just watched them and missed on the end since they look to have sold to the lone bidder.

    Error and Variations Guide Book

I noticed a color bar variance between the pack issue and promos pictured in the auction. I was the high bidder on these lots much of the way but was not smart enough to set a reminder! The paperwork alone would’ve made for great blog content and more than paid for itself, a true steal for...

    Error and Variations Guide Book

I had never seen the 1992 promos until an eBay auction for a large lot of dealer promo/order materials sold on eBay a few weeks back. I simply missed the end of the auction or I would’ve grabbed the lot. Sold very cheap and the same seller sold lots for hockey and football as well. He has an...

    Obscure player collections?

I have a "COMC collection" of these guys. Several years back when you could snag some great deals, often for pocket change, I started to pick up rare, unusual or just striking inserts/parallels of their RCs and prospect era cards. My criteria was usually "no way I could've afforded this/I...
