Howdy all! I actually used to be kind of active on here but it's been about 5-6 years now since I've been on here due to life happening and my getting rid of 95% of my collection. Have to get rid of the stragglers still and considering a return to the hobby, though I have no idea what I'd...
I tossed my standard catalog from 2007 a couple of years ago. Wish I didn't, loved that thing if only for checklists and seeing sets I'd never heard of.
Are you looking to sell them after or just keep for your PC? If for your PC, go with the companies listed above me and choose which holder/presentation you like best and go for it. All three are reputable.
Big deal, guy busted a case for himself. Whoopty doo. I don't get all the crap boomo receives, though maybe I just grew tired of conspiracy theorists. Always seemed like a good guy to me and entertaining at that.
Nice hit.
I can understand valid concerns about a player going in or not (PEDs), but the whole aspect of "well so and so wasn't unanimous or get in on first ballot yada yada yada" just doesn't hold water for me at all. Essentially, the writers are just continuing a poor system of the writers. Not voting...
Can someone please explain to me the reasoning behind anybody being a "1st ballot" HOFer or not? When did this ludicrous aspect of HOF voting even begin to be an issue? A player is a HOFer or he isn't. If it's inevitable he's going to go in, why hold it back anyway? Is there a wing in the...
Most definitely. Just like with anything outside of ebay, I want to know what I'm actually getting before buying and if I have questions, I ask before the item ends and not after.
Don't worry about it. Hell, I have 3,000+ posts and I'd wager a bet that most on this site have no idea who the hell I am anyway as most of those posts took place on the general topics board. I chalk up my "questioning" to the last 10 years of work I've done and I am always reading into things...
Doesn't have to be in person or anything. Just what sticks out in your mind.
I'm stuck on a few.
1) Exchanging letters/phone calls with my grandfather about the Red Sox and the guy in the minors, Nomar Garciaparra. To date, my favorite player ever because of those letters/phone calls.
2)...
Not sure. As some have said, it appears there are a lot more batters striking out as time goes on. Granted I have nothing to support this and actual stats could prove me wrong very easily.
With that said, it also seems pitchers are coddled a lot more as well unless it's a true workhorse...
He is sounding condescending because he's asked you for a solution a couple of times now and you can't provide one. One that makes any sense anyway. If you yourself cannot figure out a viable solution, how can you honestly sit there and demand others do it?
I would like to hear actual, viable, and realistic ideas as to HOW these big sellers can solve the issue of shilling in their auctions. It's easy to sit there and scream and yell to fix the system when it's not your problem to actually fix. Whole other situation to actually do it.
Eventually going to get back to it but a collection of those players that served in the military at some point.
I had gotten a spreadsheet from the HOF that broke it out for me, well beyond what I was expecting, but lost it when the computer it was on died. Going to have to ask for that info...
It seems more often than not, that the shilling call out threads (in general, not speaking about any particular poster/seller/etc) lack common sense or are a result of a bidder being pissy that they lost out on an auction to someone else. Just because someone bids a lot on one auction, it...
