The problem wasn't bringing in Ventura, it was taking out Shields. Nevertheless they have put themselves in position to win. I love how the expanded rosters have made this game more exciting.
That was NOT an impressive BP. The guy who wrote that is obviously not a scout.
Too much arms and not nearly enough lower body torque. He is merely timing up BP fastballs and trying to pull them, ho hum. He even gets deeked by the pitcher striding before the pitches are thrown and looking...
Everything is great until he breaks a finger or something sliding into second base on a steal attempt. That is probably the reason guys. The risk for injury is not worth him missing significant time.
Gave up a solo HR with two outs in the sixth. When does he get bumped up to AAA? If anyone has nothing to prove at the level they are currently at it is him. He could conceivably have had one of the best five seasons by an MiLB starter. Norris, Owens, Johnson, Glasnow, and Giolito...
This will continue until he changes his approach. He swings out of his shoes too often. It looks great when he connects, but it doesn't help you become a successful major leaguer. I watched him in the Rays series recently and I swore he struck out in over half his ABs in the series.
What would you do with Urias? Continue to gradually give him innings? Take the kid gloves off? Move him to AA as the Cal League isn't even proving to be a challenge? It will be interesting to see what the Dodgers decide to do with him. You obviously don't want him to log a ton of innings...
I'm drinking tonight...A LOT.
If you are making this trade, why even get another pitcher. We will always need bats because we can't develop them. We don't need pitching, why even ask for Smyly. And don't get me started on Nick "I strike out in 50 percent of my at bats" Franklin. Adames...
Going into today I accepted the reality that Price could be gone. I thought maybe the Pirates and thought Glasnow and Bell were coming here. instead I get a long reliever and a guy that can't beat out brad Miller who is hitting like under .200. David price isn't a rental, he could have been...
Please tell me this thread is a sick joke....I'm at work and I'm hoping this is some kind of bad dream. Nick Franklin and Drew Smyly for Price is God awful. I might puke in my cubicle
Brian Johnson 7.1IP 1H 1R 3BB 4K
14.1IP 2H 1R 6BB 16K over his two starts since last Hot Sheet. If that isn't #1 then I give up. Last week Tyler Anderson had better pitching stats than anyone who made the list but was omitted. I hope that isn't true for Johnson this week.
Unfortunately you can't throw at him every time he is up when you are trying to win games. Obviously the Red Sox have quit trying to win and have nothing to play for, I mean look what is happening to them tonight.
Papis antics are a disgrace to the game and he'll get one in his ribs from...
The Yankees only have one untouchable prospect IMO, Severino. But the Red Sox won't deal Lester within the division to the only team in the division that would be able to offer him a huge long term deal.
Also Lester didn't do any favors to the Red Sox be going out with those comments...
Without a guarantee to sign long term with whatever club Lester is offered to, the prospects won't be nearly the caliber of what you guys are dreaming on in this thread.
But it's good to know the Red Sox have officially thrown in the towel, I'm going again tonight, hopefully the Rays get...
Five years ago this is a great trade for both teams. But Soria is a shell of what he once was, the Tigers give up two quality arms for damaged goods. Win for the Rangers.
