I have tried to learn to judge a players career at the end of it and not halfway or 3/4 through. I was firmly in the "Griffey Jr. will defintely hit 700+ maybe 800+ homers before all is said and done" camp in the mid 90s. I was also a huge Kevin Maas guy...... so much for that camp.
I forget which baseball book I read when I was younger but back in the 50s, 60s and 70s guys would dread hitting the 100k mark for the year. Guys would go so far as to opt out of the last day on the season or fake an illness to avoid the 100k distinction. But those guys weren't swinging for the...
My girl and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express about 10 minutes outside of town and it was fabulous. Check out the Ommegang Brewery while you're up there as it's well worth it.

The hits just keep coming from FCB. Great job getting this done guys. Unfortunately for me I quit baseball/card blogging this Spring. Best of luck to everybody that gets aboard.
Hopefully with the new ball park they draw better. It must get kinda depressing to play in front of an empty or mostly empty house every night. Good luck to them in their new digs.
I just think they pulled the trigger too quickly for a guy who pitched lights out for them in the regular season
. How long do I think they should have given him? With an injury like that I'd say 2 years minimum. Just like elbow/shoulders sometimes take a bit to heal. It's not like the guy was...
I for one can't believe how quickly the Yanks gave up on him. I would have thought that putting 2x 19 win seasons back to back would give a pitcher some currency. I mean look at the guys they pulled off the scrap-heap this year alone?
