1993 Bernie Williams Refractor. I've seen them on eBay but never in person. And the handful I've seen on eBay have been pretty high BINs/not centered very well.

A cut auto of Rodney Dangerfield!
I got Dangerfield IP at the Sahara in Vegas in like 1990. I ran into him hanging out in the casino and was lucky to have a pad and pencil.

To the OP, I am always looking for the HOF cut auto cards from 2004 Topps Tribute. There are some crazy tough autos from that set that I've never seen and honestly doubt the authenticity of without having seen them.

The 2000 Upper Deck Hall of Fame dual jersey/auto's version of the 3000 hit club with Yount and Brett (and a couple variations there-of).

I've been trying to build the set and finding any cards in the set is tough. I think a couple of those sold maybe a year ago in the $500 range but I am not certain. (I also notice a Boggs /12 recently sold... wish I had seen that one as the BIN was a price I would have gladly paid.)

A lot of collectors seem to have issues finding the 2008 Upper Deck First Edition Jerseys, which were (I believe) inserted one per retail factory set. I picked up a Sean Casey tonight, which makes just the third of any of my players I've managed to find. Beckett lists this as a 100 card set, but I doubt many of them exist. They're not even listed in the almanac, only on their website, and I can't find any evidence that any more than 25-30 different ones exist. With a stated PR of 750, that makes 75,000 factory sets made, which seems really high.
I'm still looking for Frank Thomas if anyone has one let me know. I have only saw one go to auction right after release. I'll pay above book for it.

Been looking for a 1997 Durham Bulls ATG card of Justice for fifteen years. I'm convinced that this set does not exist, as are several Chipper Jones collectors who have assured me they've never seen his card from that set.

Is that the "Bulls to Braves" set? According to the SCD, there are only these 10 cards in the set:

Checklist
Jeff Blauser
Brett Butler
Ron Gant
Albert Hall
Brad Komminsk
Mark Lemke
Paul Runge
Milt Thompson
Durham Athletic Park

If someone could find that checklist card, it would be easy to confirm.

I thought it might be, but beckett lists this set here: 1997 Durham Bulls ATG Team Issue | Beckett.com

And I've never seen one card from the set, and neither have several other player collectors. Now, it's a team issued set, so who knows how limited it is, if it does exist...

Some of the cards I have never seen but should have (so not 1/1's) for players I try to get everything of:

1992 Columbia Mets Insert Set Play II #5 Bobby Jones
1994 Mets Schultz Chevrolet Spring Training #7 Bobby Jones/Olson/Shirley
1997 Select #192 Bobby Jones (yes a base card, have no problem finding the Select Company parallel)
1996 Pro Stamps #116 Tom Goodwin
1991 Leaf Gold Rookies Numbered Variations #273 Todd Van Poppel
1992 High 5 #44 Alex Cole
1992 Score/Pinnacle Promo Panels #20 Cole/Gantner/Caminiti/Stottlemyre

And in football there are several Trent Dilfer cards that supposedly aren't rare and I definitely should have seen around at some point since I have 95%+ of his non-1/1's, and I've seen OTHER cards from the sets, but I feel like either his cards weren't made or didn't make it into packs for some reason:

1995 Pacific Blue #344
1997 Pacific Philadelphia Silver #187
1998 Skybox Thunder Rave/150 #118 (no problem finding the Super Rave, never seen a regular Rave)
2002 Bowman's Best Gold/25 #60
2005 Absolute Memorabilia Spectrum Gold/25 #39
2005 Playoff Honors O's/150 #24
2006 Playoff Prestige Xtra Points Gold #39
2006 Playoff Prestige Xtra Points Green/50 #39

Everything else is rare or oddball enough that it's plausible that I wouldn't have found one before, but those above are just weird, I should have seen one by now. That being said, more than once I have found a card that was "easy" but I had never seen in the many years since the set came out and had all but given up hope on.

I'd say ask Dave Weber. If he hasn't seen it, heard of it, or owned it, it probably doesn't exist.

Sent him a message and here's his reply:

I am not aware of such a 1997 set apart from the "Bulls to Braves" set. The Beckett checklist you referred me to clearly describes the "Bulls to Braves" set, except that the checklist is completely different than the one I have. I have a Bulls to Braves checklist card which is titled, Checklist Card #1, which implies there is more than one checklist and therefore more than 10 different cards in the set. I think the possibilities are:

1) They intended to issue a second group of Bulls to Braves cards, but never did, or

2) They did issue a second series including Justice. If so I have never seen any in all my years of watching minor league cards.

Hope that helps!

Sorry to reanimate a dead thread, but I'm excited to have tracked down the 1997 Durham Bulls to Braves David Justice card. It is one of my most wanted, and it just popped up randomly on one of my regular searches on comc.com. Thrilled to have added it to my inventory!
