MRI on Wilson's elbow showed structural damage. Tommy John surgery is a possibility and possible his season is done. Bad news for the Giants if this is true and he does have to get TJ, the damage goes back to the 10 season is what reports have stated.

Is it possible that Heath Hembree gets a call up now?

Bummer, sad to hear.

Who would replace him as the closer?
Bochy said "closer by committee" but I have a feeling that is going to fail and Heath Hembree will likely get called up around the ASG break.

Sergio Romo likely getting the first shot?

I would guess Casilla as he did it last year, but Romo, Casilla and Lopez are the 3 candidates.

I think the Giants are one of the few teams that will be able to handle it fine with the loss of their closer considering the premium arms they have in their bullpen already.

This is terrible news for the Giants and for my fantasy team, so glad I drafted Wilson and Lincecum.
I'd assume Casilla would get the nod as the closer. Romo throws sliders, and when they hang they get hammered. Plus, I'm not sure Romo can handle the pressure of the closer roll, he was terrible in the post season under pressure. Lopez could close, but the Giants need him as a lefty specialist and Affeldt has closed with the Royals in the past but he is up and down in his performance. Hembree won't get called up any time soon, he's only at single A right now, no way he performs well against MLB hitters in the 9th inning.

Nice, guess the same could be said of the right side of the Phillies infield.................or it's just a baseball injury, one he's had in the past and come back from.
Best of luck to the Phillies in the uncoming series with the Giants.
