Man I wish this thread had more buyers and sellers. I can't talk, because I'm solely a buyer of one player and have nothing to sell or trade. But it's still a bummer. Large majority of posts are "here's my wantlist" repeated ad nauseum and that's it. I guess after 21 years, pretty much all 1998 Tek cards are locked up in collections and aren't going anywhere until people die :-(

Same here. In the last 9 years I have added more diffractors than base cards for Juan Gonzalez. 1 base and 4 diffractors. In 9 YEARS. The base was from a box break this year from a member here. That's just one set not set 5,6 or 1000!

Toga man got Pattern 4 yesterday thank you.. Nosterbor I understand how you feel as well but I know many people to include myself who hoard cards. The fact one person owns 7 Jeter Mirror Golds is crazy to me but if that’s what they want more power to them. How many base do you need now and what are the numbers I will be on the lookout for you. I am missing 1, 9, 17, and 85 of you find them I am willing to buy them.

Good luck finding the final 4 for your Jeter 90 card set. Maybe somebody new will pop up here who stashed some 98 TEKs away who can help you.

Diffractors for sale!

By @onlyamazingdeals. A very nice fellow, a retired Navy man living in Groton, Conn. He's now offering 'team sets' of 2 or 3 diffractors each -- 13 diffractors in all. As usual, his cards are way overpriced. After seeing the same cards offered time and time again a couple of years ago, I wrote to him and tried to show him how overpriced his cards were. His reply was "make me an offer". Think I got 3 or 4 cards with an offer about half of his asking price. I've only needed a few of his cards, and don't need any that he's currently offering. I also explained to him that most Tek collectors do look at the pattern number but he still doesn't bother listing those, or even always showing a scan of the reverse with the pattern #. On a couple of the scans of the reverse of the cards he is offering the pattern # is illegible.

For those interested, but who have not memorized all the Tek patterns, here's what he's offering:
Braves set: Andruw Jones #26 p.77; Javy Lopez #65 p.79
Yankees set: Tino Martinez #25 p.65; Chuck Knoblauch #70 p.1 (pretty sure); Orlando Hernandez #73 p.32
Astros set: Ricardo Hidalgo #84 p.19; Derek Bell #42 p.74; Moises Alou #55 p.29
Angels set: Troy Glaus #61 p.66; Jim Edmonds #20 p.11; Tim Salmon #72 p73
Phillies set: Curt Schilling #32 p.28; Scott Rolen #88 p.52

Good hunting!

An Albert Belle Tek Diffractor that I needed just went for more than $60 the other day... I'm not sure if I need to think about about that price to be the new norm or if it was some sort of gixen situation gone wrong but I know it was a few snipes against each other and no idea where his top was. Somewhat unreal... not worth that much to me but glad someone got it. It is the impossible journey to complete that sub-set anyway LOL
