As a player collector I know how hard it has become to find Donruss/Leaf Beckett samples (both silver & gold variations) of my player so I'm hoping this thread will help force them out of the shadows.
These cards were inserted in Beckett Monthly magazines between 2001 and 2003, and featured either a silver or gold "SAMPLE" stamp on the back of each card, with the gold variation being the hardest to find (believed to be 10% of the run). As the years go by these cards become harder and harder to find. And they're even hard to find in mint condition as a lot of them ended up with dings or small creases, especially when people tried pulling them off the magazine page.
So I'm asking that you dig through your boxes and post which Beckett samples you have. Maybe, just maybe, you'll help a player collector cross off another card on their want list.
I have the following Beckett samples:
Lou Gehrig - 2002 Diamond Kings Samples SILVER #143
Carlos Lee - 2003 Donruss Classics Samples SILVER #69
