New this year:

One spot remains open on each roster. For the first time, fans will determine the final player on both the U.S. and World Team rosters by casting their votes in the All-Star Sunday Futures Finalists (#FuturesFinalists) ballot. Tyler Austin (Yankees), Nick Castellanos (Tigers), Garin Cecchini (Red Sox), Courtney Hawkins (White Sox) andBrandon Nimmo (Mets) are the candidates for the U.S. team and Javier Baez (Cubs),Ji-Man Choi (Mariners), Carlos Correa (Astros), Renato Nunez (Athletics) and Rougned Odor (Rangers) eligible for the World squad.

Sigh. Where the F is Nick Castellanos? Seriously, WTF? If you reply saying he was in last years game Im going to clock you. He deserves to be there this year too.

He's one of those guys the fans can still vote in, so make sure you do it.

JIMMY! Nice to see old man Nelson get some recognation; he's having a good year.

And I agree that the US teams looks MUCH better. The World might have some big sticks, but the US pitching will miss those easily.

Well, you can officially cross off Jorge Soler. Wonder who his replacement will be.

Phil Rogers:

On the day he was named to play in the Futures Game, Cubs prospect Jorge Soler was diagnosed with a stress fracture in his left tibia, which could end his first full season in North America. Soler, signed to a $30 million contract in 2012, is expected to be in a walking boot for 4-6 weeks, which could mean that he won't play again until he's assigned to the Instructional League or possibly the Arizona Fall League. He had been sidelined with an ankle injury but it wasn't known to be so serious. Signed after Yoenis Cespedes and before Yasiel Puig last year, the 21-year-old Cuban is not off to an auspicious start in his career. He played only 55 games for high-A Daytona this season, losing time when he was suspended after he charged the opposing dugout with a bat in his hand and being benched once for not hustling. The good news is he was productive when he played, with a slash line of .281/.343/.467 to go along with 8 home runs and 35 RBIs. It will be interesting to see if Soler is replaced on the World roster with an outfielder from the Cubs' system. Korean Jae-Hoon Ha, recently promoted to Triple-A Iowa, played in the showcase a year ago. Rubi Silva, a 24-year-old Cuban, is hitting .267 with 9 homers for Double-A Tennessee.

By "playing" I assume you mean "played", as the game has already taken place. My votes are for Buxton and Bogaerts.
