....and by everyone, I don't mean just prospectors. :D

To celebrate my 25,000th post, I figured I'd start up a contest. The premise is really simple.

Correctly answer this question: Who was the first player I accumulated a stash of after first getting into baseball cards?

The first person to get it right will win. The winner will receive a cool Bowman Chrome parallel card, worth at least $20 on the secondary market, from his or her favorite team.

You may guess up to three names, but no more - if you do, your guesses will be disqualified.

Here are the first two hints -

1) While I grew up and started watching baseball in the 70's, it wasn't until the 80's that I started buying cards.

2) This player's card values were never considered to be "common".

Good luck! I'll check back in a bit to see if more hints are needed.

DING DING DING!

Well, that didn't take long. We have a winner - it's Canseco. I still own my stash. Obviously I won't get back what I had into them (bought the majority of it during his 1988 40/40 campaign), but I don't care. Keeping it for sentimental reasons.

David, you have a PM coming.

Thanks to everyone for participating.
