How about the Showcase Series Artist Proofs?

Not sure, although I don't think they are that common to be a ton. But the way and version of boxes the Reserve Collections came in I just think they are on the short side of things

Still waiting for my card from sportslots. Such a miniscule card in the grand scheme of my collection, but i am looking forward to getting it.

So is the 1 in 11 pack drop rate of Reserve Collection cards in Series 2 Hobby edition, as stated by Beckett and SCD, accurate?

Yeah I believe so, but they were only in Hobby Reserve Boxes, not in base series 2 boxes. HR only had 20 packs in them, so it was less than 2 per box and based on what I see out there I don't think there are that many out there as I don't think that many HR boxes were made. Again this is just my opinion based on how little amount of RC are listed. As of now there are 7 baseball ones listed on eBay, and over the last 3 months there have only been 5-10 others listed. Seems like a small run to me

Nearly no dealer knows what they are.

I dig through every discount box at shows and I've only found maybe five over all these years. Definitely rare.
Found a Thome at the national. Debating if it's a keeper or not.

What compounds the scarcity is that it was a horribly conceived product with a mostly ugly checklist and was, not surprisingly, very unpopular. Lots of product remains unopened and people are asking way too much for the boxes. It's really a shame they didn't include more Hobby Reserve-specific inserts and find a way to have more stars in the checklist.

For my all-time Giants rookie card collection, I managed to find the Reserve Collection for Deivi Cruz (played for the Giants briefly). I'm not sure if I want to call off my search for the 1997 Ultra Platinum (/200) though.

I searched for this thread just for clarification on a few things and then realized that the series 2 hobby reserve had number variations. I had #481 but needed HR481. I then remembered I had a stack of 5 or 6 hobby reserve doubles, and ONE of them was HR481! Phew, glad I don't have to go searching for one. Are the HR# rarer than just the #? Still need the reserve collection though. I've still never seen one.

They are about equally common. Neither carries a premium.

yes , i know this an old thread , but i came back looking for it today just to refresh my memory and make sure i knew just what was what....

i found one of my "lost" stacks of hobby reserve today ....this batch has perhaps 300-350 cards in it including a good handful of stars....i know that SOMEWHERE here i have another smaller batch that has some of the bigger names .....i havent really looked all that closely to see how many extras i have , but i definitely want to get my set organized over the next day or two while i have some storm-related down time and then try to move some of the leftovers......sooooo....if anyone here is in need of any specific players from this set , let me know and i'll see what i have....

edit to add : though i know i have seen a few of these with the HR prefix among those i have , all the cards in THIS batch are those WITHOUT the prefix....

UPDATE -

i got my set organized last night and i actually had a enough for a complete 220-card set , but 9 of the cards had some form of damage that made me hold those out.....

i definitely want to try to move these leftovers....i have on hand 68 duplicates plus 10 more lightly damaged singles....though i know i have a few of these with the HR prefix somewhere here , all the cards in THIS batch are those WITHOUT the prefix....

below is the list of extra i have on hand along with their adjusted BV's .... (the bottom 10 are those with minor damage - mostly just light corner dings)....just let me know if you see anything listed that you need....
