Those are some old bricks and with the vines attached they need allot of tuckpointing. There are wires attached to the wall that the vines grab onto and grow up on the wall to that does also take a toll on the structure of the wall I assume.

I am not meaning to hijack your thread but just thought I would post a picture of the original vines being planted in 1937. Not much has changed has it?
