Is this a steal of one of the poorest quality sets ever made?

Why is Mookie Wilson on Darryl Strawberry's card?
Strawberry was one of the most recognizable players in the game. How'd they screw that up?

Because if the extremely high quality of this product, I'm sure "strawberry" is the name of the dog.

No way a top notch premium product such as this one could make a mistake ;)

The Henderson is accounted for, but if anyone is interested in any of the others, let me know. (Pending there arrival of course.)

The cards arrived and they did not disappoint. The backs are blank but I scanned them to show the poor paper quality that allows the ink to bleed through. (Actually, this set has gotten valuable enough that some people are copying it. If you have a copy with a pristine back, chances are it's a fake.)

The 1984 card stock is a nicer, glossy paper so the ink did not bleed through. The quality only goes so far though because it looks like the guy who created these cards took a picture of his dog, cut it out, taped it over each picture, then photocopied it.

I wonder why George Bell was featured with that stellar .268 AVG?

Topps should do a set called "Bootlegs" and copy some of the designs of unlicensed sets from the past. It is about the only retro gimmick they haven't used, and it's not like anyone would be able to attack them for stealing designs.

Funny, this would be my first recommendation:

Maybe it's just because I grew up in the 80's, but regional and unlicensed issues are some of my favorite from that era!

If it sells, yes. I keep seeing a lot of 4-5 cards (Garvey it in, I think Griffey and Thomas too) and seller is asking $10K. It's probably a $10-15 lot at best. Just because they are asking it, doesn't mean it is worth it.

I kind of like those with the dog image on it. Same set or different, but similar set?
