This song always reminds me of high school, Freshman year as it was the theme of our Homecoming. It was the first and only time I was that involved in high school and this song always takes me back there.
Most of the soundtrack for "Guardians of the Galaxy" is from the 70s...

I was born in 1972 but have always considered myself a child of the 80s. Never was a fan of music from the 1970s until really the last 5-10 years, but I have really grown to appreciate and love so much of the music from that decade.
To me, what makes the music of that era so unique is that many of the artists were more than just singers trying to rhyme verses. Their songs were stories that you hung onto until the end. Artists like Al Stewart and Gerry Raferty come to mind in that mold, but know there are hundreds more.
Bands I've rediscovered include America, ELO, The Little River Band, The Eagles, soloists like Cliff Richard, Boz Scaggs, Gary Wright... the list goes on and on!
