Stop cursing game fanatic! You literally curse every time someone quotes you...literally.

    And I mean literally!
Look, I'm gonna be honest with you. I really need a job. And I will take any position, as long as it doesn't involve having sex with old ladies for money or bear traps. Those are my two bugaboos. While mulling over my resume feel free to check out my baseball card collection, it's small and simple, kinda like me - >>>>> https://s822.photobucket.com/user/JDf...ds%20n%20stuff

I went back and reread the thread from the beginning. I had forgotten about it myself. I think it is funny that someone who feels their reputation is being tarnished would revive a 5 year old thread, doing nothing more than to bring MORE ATTENTION to the thread now that most people have long forgotten. I saw that I linked the ebay store of the seller originally and that link still worked today.

    https://www.ebay.com/str/grouchyoldmanbaseballcards

Looks at what he is selling now and if there was any doubt before, it should be crystal clear after viewing their current offerings. This person is dealing with (and I didn't wade through even 1/10th of the listing, so this is a ballpark guess) probably 75% or more of their listings in fantasy cards that are unlicensed. Now I don't blame someone for selling this type of stuff, but only if they do it openly and honestly. For example, I did see a Lemke custom that was mentioned by name in one listing. Bob originally sold those cards openly as fantasy pieces, but his creations have since been reproduced and sold by others as cheaper knock-offs. I even had one guy selling copies of a custom card a buddy of mine made specifically for me that I shared online (my bad for not watermarking it I guess). Prick just took the image and made a cheap computer copy version of the card and was selling them. In his defense, I did ask him to stop and he appeared to have stopped.

Jury is still out of this guy in my opinion though. The listings would have you believe most of this stuff was issued in some unique way, like a legit card set or food issue, but I would be willing to bet whoever made them did so to sell online exclusively with a very limited number of "distributors". Picture someone having a batch of cards printed up themselves (like Lemke did) and then having their buddy sell them online as something "special". I am betting most of this stuff was never available anywhere but online and from select sellers only until some possibly have been resold later by an original buyer or perhaps if a collection was parted out and these were part of it.

People are buying up the custom/ACEO/Broder stuff like never before these days and those sellers grabbing a piece of that market are pretty smart to do so. Some of the nicer custom cards are now bringing many $100s (Banty Red for example). I have to assume most buyers understand what they are getting and are willing to pay those kinds of prices for them. If there are buyers being fooled in today's market, especially if the seller isn't trying some shady crap, well...then, buyer beware and smarten up about what you are spending your money on! I consider them small pieces of art and will pay a certain amount for items I like the look and quality of.

In the end, I have never seen a Garvey item offered by this guy though.

Come in here, dear boy, have a cigar,
    You're gonna go far,
    You're gonna fly high,
    You're never gonna die,
You're gonna make it if you try,
    They're gonna love you.

Me too. That was a doozy. I'll join your lawsuit, we can make it a class action thing.

Yeah this feels like this card all over funny how these popped up recently after collecting him for all these years. Not interested in buying cards saying printed in 1992 to 1994 when they were actually printed in 2018 or 2019
