Thanks to all who signed up.

I just need three more mailing addresses (see the mention list above). Once received, I will send the envelopes out to everyone.

OVERVIEW

Your envelope will include 4 random playing cards from 2 standard decks (red back and blue back). 4 jokers are also included for a total of 108 cards.

Each card represents a short term season goal for an MLB team or player that should be accomplished well before the All-Star break.

Please take a snapshot of the number written on the inside of the envelope along with the cards you were dealt and post it in this thread.

Please fold each card at an angle so both the front and back are visible at the same time. This will verify the back color.

Complete an average of 100% for your 4 scenarios to have a "winning" hand. The first to post that they have a "winning" hand will win a rather nice prize. As usual, the prize will remain a mystery until the winner steps forward.

There is also an instant winner prize available to the person whose hand has the highest combined total based on these values:

2-10 = face value
Jack = 11
Queen = 12
King = 13
Ace = 14
Joker = 15

The deadline for posting this total is May 1st.

NOTE: If any of your players go on the 15 Day DL or longer before May 1st, you may substitute that card for the next one in that suit/back color (2 of Clubs to 3 of Clubs, Ace of Diamonds to 2 of Diamonds, etc...). After May 1st, no substitutions are permitted. An unfortunate break.

Any questions, just ask! Good luck to all.

OK, I think this is how you determine your 4 scenarios you have to use for your contest

Example: Say I received these four cards (note truly did these at random) So they will most likely not be all teams like my examples here :lol:

Red 2 of Spades.... looking at the Spades I find the red column look for the number 2 and under the red column there is a 6 so on the scenarios Card I go to 6 and the NY Mets need to get 20W (wins)

Then I did this for blue 7 of Clubs and found the number 36 and 36 on the scenarios is the Cincinnati Reds 20W (wins)

Next Red King of Hearts Found number 47 and again on the Scenarios is the NY Yankees 20W (wins)

And lastly Blue Jack of Diamonds, Number 43 and that number is Toronto 21W (wins)

And if you draw a joker as one of your 4 cards you just match it to the Back of the card and what is on the front then you use the number corresponding to the 2 indicators

Example Back of the card is red and the joker (front of the card) is blue then the number you use is 75 and you would have Houston Street 9S (saves)

Seems pretty easy to me. That's if this is fact how you do it, to determine your 4 scenarios. :lol:

You couldn't be more spot on. Glad I could redeem myself with some straightforward rules for once!

The baseball card version of a Poker run. Well, kinda. This one seems like fun again. I'm not surprised. You come up with some original contests.

just wanted to let you know i am still away from home now (staying with my parents as i recover from my burns) and will be in the hospital several days next week as they do my skin graft surgeries so i may be a week or two behind in reporting my "hand" and getting up to speed....

Hopefully mine show tomorrow or I am probably out. Based on the average stat, how long did you anticipate the contest running before a winner might appear?

I think you will be fine. This is based on the regular season, which doesn't even begin until the 5th.

I scaled the stats to 25% of each player's projected season total, so this should run about halfway to the All-Star break.

Plenty of time.
