    Are malls by you empty?

Every year we go to one of the largest malls in this country for Christmas shopping.

Year after year it's a hassle tying to find a spot and then walk around a packed mall.

It's obviously expected so we just do it.

Last year we went the first week of December and had zero problems getting a spot and there were little crowds. We thought we "found the secret shopping date."

We didn't go early this year instead we went today and very surprisingly, twelve days before Christmas, the mall is not the least bit crowded and there was no problem getting a spot.

So are the malls by you not busy also?

Granted I'm only judging this by one mall but it's a big one.

Anazon Prime and other on-line stores are easier to deal with.

The mall, for me, is that place you go to the movies.

Plus, the mall has those most annoying creatures on Earth...people.

I will also echo it, it's the Amazon effect. Amazon prime has taken a lot of hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping away. Free two day shipping usually they have what you want in stock.

    1. Online shopping > In Store shopping

    2. Don't like crowds of people walking aimlessly.

As others have said, online shopping continues to become the norm as opposed to dealing with crowds of people and traffic. It's so much more convenient.

The major mall near me looked as packed as it always does during Christmas, when my family and I went shopping there a couple weekends ago.

The one near by me is almost dead. The only thing holding it together is a big movie chain theater but even that may not be enough.

Big, mostly high-end Malls are doing just fine.

The rest are getting crushed. Two former busy malls near here are turning into big Medical centers....

The mall in Virginia is dying. Kmart is closing and vacating by mid-April. The Mariner Mall in Superior just lost its theater. It's been dead for about a decade. And the mall in Hibbing is only open because of J.C. Penny. The Miller Hill Malll in Duluth is always busy as hell though ...
