The Carolina on the Southern side
Last year he throws 2 no-hitters and now he ties the single game strikeout record.

But you wouldn't know based on the sales of his cards. He doesn't get the respect he deserves in this hobby which is odd because strikeouts are what sell when it comes to pitchers.

brad ausmus was K victim in clemens 20k game in 1996 and kerry woods in 1998

then as a manager left the al batting leader on the bench the entire game vs scherzer

Young age, combined with domination, is what sells when it comes to pitchers, not Ks.

Last season, no one cared when the top three leaders in Ks were Chris Sale, Chris Archer and Corey Kluber.
And no one cares that Bert Blyleven is 5th all-time in Ks, and Don Sutton is 7th all-time.

As for age, Scherzer didn't have his first great season until he was 28, and he turns 32 in two months. Even if he averages 15 wins a year for the next 6 years, he won't reach 200 wins, and he's not a future Hall of Famer, so his cards will remain low priced, relatively speaking.

Kerry Wood is regarded as a legend to this day by Cubs fans for doing this.

In all of his time in Chicago he only won like 80-something games.

Scherzer has won like double that in half the time, and accomplished this feat too.

What's that make him?

In the 5 games where a pitcher recorded 20ks, not one walked a batter...(wood, johnson, Clemens x2, and now Scherzer)
