Hawk8's sig says he has 4,000+ different Andre Dawson cards, which is mind blowing.

Does anyone on FCB have a larger player collection?

And I wonder what the world record is for most different cards of a player someone owns.
I bet some rich collector has like 10,000+ different Griffey or Jeter cards.

Impressive, both of you.
And thanks for making me aware of the Juangone site. He was my favorite Ranger in the '90s and I collected his cards for a few years, so I'll have fun looking through that website tonight.

Thanks LWMM, I forgot about that thread. I only have around 400 Rickey cards, so I never participated.

Amazing to think how much some of those guys have spent.
7,500 different Ripken cards, ballparking a probably low $5 a card including shipping, (taking into account trades, bulk buys and also expensive autographs and 1/1s) and that's $37,500. That's a Ripken Museum worthy collection.

Not counting non card items I'm now a bit below 3,900. I guess the link above needs to be updated as it shows me at 2500! :)

I passed 5000 two years ago at least, so it has not been updated in a while. I am around 5600 Gwynns now, could be a while to get to 6,000...

7500 Ripkens, that is very impressive!

So impressive! I'd love to hear what bigalbert is up to now.

Looks like you and the rest of the board has been catching up!
My total is right at 8180 today, I'm setting a goal of 10000. We'll see I guess.
