I have just started looking into buying vintage, after finding myself hitting a wall with my Pirates collection. I'm mainly looking to buy lower grade common Pirates from the early 50's to get autographed TTM. However, as I'm browsing ebay, I'm finding some of the cards in conditions that just seem too good to be true at the prices they are listed at. Are there any telltale signs from 50's Bowman and Topps sets that would help distinguish a reprint from vintage?

Go for nice but not perfect cards,.......... unless its a star player, i would feel confident that it is original. As far as fakes go...........i dont have any concrete tell signs, but usually if it seems too good to be true............you know the rest. Good Luck! I would recommend buying graded cards in any other instance.
