USA Today and ESPN report the Mariners are working on a 1-year deal for Ichiro.
Great news for M's fans (and Ichiro fans like me) who were hoping he'd end his career in Seattle.
Ichiro says he wants to play until he's 50, but this will probably end up being his farewell tour at age 44.

I was excited to hear this last night. He deserves a send off for his last year in MLB like other players have had in the past. Not getting signed by a team and just going back to Japan to try and play really didn't sit well with me. Going back to Safeco is a great way to end his career here in the U.S.!!

I wonder how much playing time he will get. Seattle OF rankings (imo)

1. Mitch Haniger (RF)
2. Dee Gordon (CF)
3. Ben Gamel (LF)
4. Guillermo Heredia
5. Taylor Motter (UT)
6. Nelson Cruz (#1 in NL games)

Its sad when a guy like Motter is better than Ichiro but I think it will happen this year.

Bunch of those guys are hurt or coming back from injury, i believe...so at least to start the season he should get some playing time
