Thanks, I thought I saw a GDPR chopper over my house the other day, clearly because I was on a non-compliant site... was trying to quick figure out which one.

Is it still messing with the android app?

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. It logs me in sometimes and other times it says the server can't be reached

You're both right.

FCB doesn't have a "security" issue, it's that external images in signatures or otherwise are being loaded via HTTP and not HTTPS. That triggers a mixed content warning which apparently Opera is pretty strict about.

basically there are new standards for how you should secure a website and google has decided not to push traffic to sites that don't adhere to those standards.

Google has forced the entire internet to enhance security.

This explains why Google won't let me access any https sites on my phone. I keep getting non-secure warnings.
