There is a Pi “language” called “Pilish”, in which the numbers of letters in successive words match the digits of pi. For example, Mike Keith wrote the book “Not A Wake” (3, 1, 4) entirely in Pilish. It starts : Now I fall, a tired suburbian in liquide under the trees... (Now has 3 letters, I has 1, fall has 4, and so on)

    Lol...

Your fact of the day for today, March 15th, the ides of March, but...I couldn’t find any facts I liked enough to share for the ides, so I’ll start on some St Paddy’s Day facts early...

    1. St. Patrick, although the patron saint of Ireland, wasn’t Irish. He was actually born in Roman-occupies Britain in the 4th century. And he also didn’t go to Ireland by choice, he was kidnapped and sold into slavery by Irish raiders who robbed his family home when he was only 16.

Your preSt Patrick’s Day March 16th fact of the day...

St. Patrick is not an official saint, in that he was never formally canonized by a Pope.

Since I missed yesterday, your St Patrick’s Day fact for March 17th...

St. Patrick’s Day used to be a solemn commemoration of the day he died. In 1927 Irish officials even banned the sale of alcohol on his name day, partly at the insistence of the Catholic Church. Today, it ranks 4th on the list of booziest holiday behind New Years Eve, Christmas and the 4th of July.

And your fact of the day for today, March 18th...

Kleenex tissues were originally invented as filters to put in gas masks during World War I.
