Mel passed away at age 77. Great pitcher for the Yankees, when the Yankees weren't that good anymore!

Such a sad day in New York baseball history. Mel was one of the good ones. I was only a young wipper snapper during the Yanks World Series runs of the late 90s and it was awesome to watch Mel do his thing. Guy always had a smile on his face. I've never heard anyone say a bad thing about the man. RIP to one of the legends
