It looks like 2019 Topps is going to give us another appearance of a 1986 Topps Canseco. This made me wonder what the record was for reprints and buybacks of the same card.

I checked the 1987 Topps rookie cup card and 2018 marked the 5th year straight for its release, with around 40 or so renditions of it in reprint or buyback form, if you include parallels. That's a lot.

What is the most you have seen of a single card? Are they doing this for every player?

The 88 Topps Update and 88 Donruss Alomars have popped up quite a bit, but nowhere close to 40 times. Maybe 10 for the Donruss and 15 for the Topps. That 86 Canseco is probably the king.

The 1975 George Brett reprints seems to be in something every year.

A quick eBay search shows 2019, 2017, 2016, 2016 5x7, 2010, 2006, 2003, 2001 Archives, 2001 Archives Reserve Chrome & 2001 Archives relic. These were all produced by Topps. I believe there are some made by other mfg's.
