10 Years/$300M. Wow.
Padres have a lot of high end prospects that are close to being ready. They could have a pretty good, young team in the next couple of years. I'm wondering if that factored into Manny's decision at all, or if he really was just chasing the almighty dollar with that 10 year/$30 million deal.

It's all about the $$$ for Manny. He had better options on the table. San Diego has a losing record since 2010. Yes, prospects are nice, but not all of them pan out. At least the Phillies made major improvements in order to content. One report had the Braves offering him 3/90. Hope it works out for him, but I think San Diego is biting off more than they can chew.
If he stays the whole ten years, he will pay the wonderful state of California 39M in state taxes.
Infield of Machado, Tatis Jr., Urias and Hosmer. You've got my attention.
Padres ........... go get some pitching.
