perhaps a dumb question , but......

is there any surefire (and simple) way to look at a boxscore and see if a player enters the game as a pinch-hitter or if he enters as a defensive replacement who later happens to get a plate appearance ? (branch 6 scenario #2)

The most surefire way I’m aware of is the “PH” indicator next to a player’s name in the boxscore. Here's a sample:

https://www.mlb.com/gameday/giants-...nal,lock_state=final,game_tab=box,game=565234

For SF, you’ll see Austin and Sandoval have this indicator, while Suarez for CIN has the same.

This particular game had many other substitutions and defensive switches. Just go to the Plays tab for more info.

So if I use it on like June 10th, I could use all the games prior to that point?

Yes, if you posted on June 10th that Seattle had 4HR on May 4th to clear your branch 7, you would be on branch 8 as of May 4. So, you’d have a month of games to go through to catch up, but that’s your prerogative.

To be honest, though, that’s not really in the spirit of the game, but there’s nothing prohibiting you from doing that! If I run this again in the future, I would probably implement a “shelf life” for chainsaws. If a player doesn’t claim a completed chainsaw after say a week, it would expire as if it never happened.

Anyway, great question. Play your branch anyway you choose under the rules for this particular game.

Branch 4 has been automatically cleared, so everyone can start working on Branch 5 as of today (May 7th) if you aren't there already.

Everyone's current branch is listed at the bottom of the OP.

Please note that the branch 5 and 6 bounties are unavailable. A chainsaw has already been claimed for them.

cjedmonton for Branch 7, Top individual batter 1 strike out, does that mean nobody can have more than 1 or does it mean nobody can have less than 1, also can there be a tie for the game?

This scenario means the highest strikeout total must be exactly 1.

Ties are fine.

Got all scenarios except 1 for branch 7, and of course the Nats don’t have a interleague game till June haha

I feel your pain...I’ve got Seattle as an interleague scenario and they don’t have an interleague series until the last week of June.
