While I'm trying to not take on any card projects and save money for the National, I'm also starting to succumb to sneaker collecting and childhood/HS/college vintage stuff in general. I've always thought about it but I really didn't want another hobby or financial drain. However, I'm weak. That damn Slobby's World on Netflix got me. I found out the Nirvana t-shirt that for some reason I gave to Goodwill a few years ago is worth major $ (when I was moving to a new house, donated about 8 shirts out of the 500 I have). I found out the Siouxsie t-shirt I bought in college and have kept all these years is a Mosquitohead original and worth about $600. I bought a pair of vintage Blazers at a Goodwill a couple weeks ago (not real vintage, but reissues from 2011, AFAIK), mainly to have as daily wear, and have been stumbling into more GWs and thrift shops lately to pick shoes and t-shirts. I wanted the Air Max Susans that "dropped" (lord help me using that word) but got shut out, or "took the L." But this past Saturday I managed to snag a pair of SB Dunk High Walk The Dogs (I know, they are not for everybody).
This is a long way of asking if anyone else has this sickness, and where the best places are to learn about it. I'm on a Discord but it seems like trying to learn French by reading a French novel. I've already decided I'm not going to get into bots and "cooking" and major flipping and all that, which seems to me to be unfun and detrimental to the hobby, not to mention my ability to acquire shoes I want at SRP. Although it may be a matter of can't-beat-em-join-em.
Will be happy to delete this thread or have it moved to a more appropriate place, but just wanted to have a few pointers.
