First Time at Target Field

Hello,

Unfortunately this is not going to be my first time at Target Field yet, my parents and brother are going next weekend to watch Indians @ Twins, I think it is going to be a great series.
Any tips, can't miss food or must do's for the stadium?

Target Field is my favorite stadium of the 6 I've been to. Granted, I go there a lot more than anywhere else. Bat and Barrel has food, but haven't tried it yet. But it's also home to the 2 World Series trophies, MVP awards, Gold Glove awards, Silver Slugger awards, and some memorabilia. 2 Gingers Pub is in the upper level and that is where the organist is and she will talk with fans while she can. I don't know if there is really any food option that I've had that I wouldn't eat again. Obviously I haven't tried everything, but I always have a hard time deciding what to eat since there are a few options that I enjoy and only get a couple of times a year. I'm a fan of Tony O's Cuban sandwich, but it is very filling and heavy for a sandwich. Holy Land gyros are good too. Can't go wrong with Kramarczuk's Sausage either.

This year they have a new thing at Gate 34 called the Gate 34 Experience. They bring in mostly Minnesota vendors to set up and sell their products there. They rotate every few home games. They also put in some yard games in that area. There's the Digital Clubhouse, which offers some interactive games, but I hardly venture there as it's more geared towards kids.

I'd recommend walking the stadium in the middle of one of the games just to see the different views offered by Target Field. I haven't made it to a game since April and with the season they are having you can tell it's an electric atmosphere and it will definitely be with Cleveland in town.

You can bring in your own food so my usual carry ins are some carmel corn or M&Ms to munch on. You can bring in a sealed bottle of water and refill it anywhere, so I do that every time, even if I buy a drink. They have recently changed their bag rules, so check online before you go. There are little pocket guides to the food in the stadium (like a pocket schedule) that tells you about the different foods and where to find them. A good reference to or a first timer.

When I go to new stadiums, I aleats walk around a lot. Try to go as high up as I can, take some pics, try to get as close as I can before I get chased out! There's memorabilia in a lot of areas--mostly between third and home on the second level--to see and Bat And Barrell is a good museum of its own, too.

Its really a great time for the independent league team. In addition, there are some good places to eat around CHS Field, ex. The Bulldog, Big River Pizza, Dark Horse, Ox Cart (head to the roof top for views of CHS Field), Handsome Hog, Barrio are just a handful within a couple blocks.

2) In MPLS, only a couple blocks from Target Field is First Avenue. If your family are music fans, its pretty cool just to walk by this iconic spot and see all of the names on the side of the building that have played First Ave. Prince, U2, Beastie Boys, Aerosmith, Metallica, are just a few of the Hall of Fame artist to have played here. https://first-avenue.com/about/thestars

4) The food scene in the Twin Cities is amazing. It will be a stop in a trip to visit family in a small town of SD. They will also go to Mt. Rushmore along the way.

Oh man, I could go on and on about things to do in the Black Hills haha. I live 2.5 hours south of Rapid City. There's a lot to do up there.

Is Univ of Minnesota walkable from downtown? Go over the stone arch bridge I assume and would it be fun to check out the campus?

Yes you can walk across the Stone Arch bridge and then over to campus, about 1.5-2.0 miles depending on where on campus you want to go to. Or you can get to campus by taking the light rail in downtown.
