INDUSTRY SUMMIT- DAILY RECAP- DAY 5 WRAP UP

At the Industry Summitt folks figured I'd recap some highlights for those unable to make or see what's going on

For those unable to make the Industry Summitt figured I'd show some pictures off. Located at teh Westgate Hotel & Casino in Vegas.

Day 2 of the Summitt . Day 1 nothing more than standard check in and meet and greet some faces. Golf gods didn't look down on me had to work before the Summit so couldn't get there in time to attend the golf outing. I did however get there to see some set up pre-show and to meet some faces

First few faces I saw wouldn't meen anything to anyone who doesn't know them ( Jeromy Murrays and Ted Barkers wives). Next face I saw was someone I actually wanted to talk shop== Beckett Price Guide Analyst Brian Fleischer. Brians been around Beckett since 2003 and it was great to finally put a face to a name.Great guy and just the dorky looking OPG specialist you'd expect. Wanted to NOT put his pic up ---yet -- until I got his OK first. I'm like that folks-- I ask permission. If you have OPG baseball issues email me I'll have him look at them when we are free.

A few others were met and greeted ( Eric from Fat Packs) and a bunch of other guys I know but don't care to meet-- or greet for that matter. The GTS distribution group were there and that's a rowdy group in and of itself. Lots of noise coming out of that lounge area pre-show-men and woman.

Most people were just checking in and the early check ins were golfing. Work prevented me from doing so.

Panini had NO ONE in its lounge or maybe they were at the tournament same with ebay whose lounge was closed. Got some pictures pre-set up. Met the Tri-star folks as well. I'll talk and see if I can get her approval first for pictures. Same with the ladies handling registration.

Pardon pic size I don't have my imaging software handy to correct them . They were actually gigantic when I first posted had to modify pic quality

The handout they gave was a white Industry Summit shopping bag. Inside was a 4 free grading 30-Day cert for BGS and a $50 BAS credit
Also an itinerary of the weeks events and a room set up along with Ted Barkers free media ad coupon.
Sponsors of the Summitt are all on the bag itself.

I'll probably offer the BAS coupon as a freebie towards XMAS I don't do autos
On my name plate I noticed they included a raffle cert I'll presume for some freebies later on

Thanks Jeff. The artwork booth is Isaac "Ike" Rodriguez. He's local to Houston and a regular at Houston's TriStar shows. Does amazing work. I have a few prints of his Carlos Correa work autographed at the show back before Correa started signing exclusively at GTSM shows. Ike is a nice guy, too.

I visited the website, but could not really determine the answer. Is this something that anyone can attend if they wanted to do so or is it reserved for "qualified" personnel? I am not looking to attend, I am just curious.

Industry folks with retail ground locales would benefit from this show as well as larger ebay sellers. I have private meetings set up with ebay tomorrow to discuss my store and ebays trust and safety responses to some stuff. Should be interesting

I'll post more about todays stuff when I can its going to be a multi post segment. Trying to tie in some discussions I had with some folks and I need some permissions on some stuff so just waiting for their approvals. Just woke up diabetes kicked my fanny 2nd day in a row had to leave early

Still havent seen 2 people I need to but we have 2 days left so should be ok. Will post the pics I know I can in a bit still organizing pics/notes

Thats who it was = yeah I spoke with him today. Nice guy and that oil work is stuff I'd put up if I had space. Funny how you knew that !!

OK Folks below is the start of Day 3 at the Summitt and meetings with some of the folks. The main event I cared to attend was the Panini Racing forum to see how they'd handle products in that market. I have a lot of baseball guys I deal with in the heart of Nascar country and we do lots of baseball for Nascar trades so its a market I can't ignore.

Pictured below are Nascar Drivers Joey Logano ( tall guy) and Gray Gaulding ( spikey hair boy) along with yours truly. Yes I dressed down today
And seeing myself in pics for the first time in years reminds me that we all don't age like fine wine
    FYI I'm 5 ft 10 Joey Logano is 6 ft 1.5 so he's a thin stick.
Fluid retention folks-- caused by diabetes- explains my stomach. I gots a gut but it aint THAT large

Joey was at my hotel chain a while back so I just re-aquainted myself with him again. One of the nicer drivers you'd meet.
Grays young but I like him already. You'd have to follow the sport to know who he is.,

The other pic is with NASCAR Managing Director of Licensing and Consumer Products Paul Sparrow

I'll write more about the Panini / Nascar relationship after I get Paul's answers and approval on some stuff. He's been advised of the publics interest and I've asked him to respond in a way that gets their message out in a manner NASCAR wants as opposed to how we get it from Panini or elsewhere. I'm looking forward to his responses. Pretty sure he'll be ok with a simple picture display for now. Catching up to my emails and eBay stuff now so quite busy. I have more I'll post about in a bit

Below is a pic of JANYCE MABRA who is the Director of Sales for Packaged goods at Tri-Star-- a totally independent division yes of that company. I'll post more about my experiences and discussions with her once I get the answers to follow up questions I have. Like all interviews I like getting their message out in the way they intend as oopposed to how I want it interperated.

Janyce is standing in front of the product lines they offer- more on that once that interview is completed. Once again a part of the hobby thats been profitable for me whenever I've delved into it.

OK next up is the meeting I had with the guys whose back was turned Day 2 in that pre-set up pic- BART SILBERMAN
Bart is the VP of Sales and Licensing for Super7.com and he's based out of San Francisco

In their own words : Founded in 2001, Super7ģ is the premier pop-culture design house and producer of lifestyle-oriented collectibles, toys and apparel based in San Francisco.
Besides its own branded products, Super7 has also designed, manufactured, and distributed officially licensed programs for Star Wars, Masters of the Universe, the original Alien and Planet of the Apes movies, as well as for music legends Iron Maiden, the Misfits, and King Diamond.

One reason they were at the Summit is they now have an agreement with MLB Properties and were promoting existing products plus some new baseball stuff

Pic below is of Bart at his table with some of the current products shown- I'll show more pics in a bit

The sell sheet shown below is of the new MLB Properties product line. As you can see they are incorporating players & mascots
After that is some pics of actual products. I don't do MLB action figures but was interested more in his GPK and Peanuts items
I did suggest they should incorporate cards into those MLB packages somehow designed around their line
Not sure if that suggestion will be listened to .
