Is not that Papelbon isn't a great closer. Is the idea of the decade. I think U really have to play 5 full season to be consider fairly.

Agreed. In their prime, after Mo and Billy Wagner, I'd take Gagne over any of the others.

I am not saying Papelbon should not be on the list, I am just saying maybe Cordero could be on if he wasn't.

I think I would rank Nathan ahead of Hoffman, but Nathan suffers because he only started closing in 2004 (although he appeared in relief in 78 games in 2003, with no saves).
Nathan's numbers as a closer from 2004-2009:
6 seasons, 1.87 ERA, 0.934 WHIP, ERA+ of 236, 246 saves (41 per year), 518 Ks in 418 IP
Hoffman's numbers since 2004:
6 seasons, 2.63 ERA, 1.009 WHIP, ERA+ of 150, 239 saves (40 per year), 295 Ks, in 332 IP
Hoffman had another 124 saves in 2000-2002 (he didn't record a save in 2003 due to injury), which I am sure is the biggest reason he is ahead of Nathan on this list.

Gagne should not even be on this list. He only had a couple great seasons, and they were enhanced by steroids. I think that Francisco Cordero should be in his place.
