I'd say it's real. Either that or a patch faker cut up a real jersey. The stitching looks like that of a real authentic jersey. Not those cheap patches you can buy on ebay.

yes, it is indeed real. i had a 1/2 case (5 packs/boxes) that i sold to a buddy. he ripped, and in the first pack he hit the pujols. of course i couldn't just leave it behind, so i bought it back from him.

other "notable" hits from the 1/2 case were:

ripken 4-piece/auto numbered to 10
manny ramirez 3 or 4 piece/auto numbered to 10
jackie robinson 4/5 mystery pack base
jimmy piersall 1/1 mystery pack base
