Glad to see you made it...................... ;)

I'm not much of a poster, I spend alot of time on Net54. Then again I collect HOF Rookies, so I got to keep in touch with modern.Rookies help pay my way through Prewar to keep the collection going.

Very nice. Cards like that always make for a nice bit of research. I picked this one up a few months ago:

jags_pc.jpg

According to the stamp box on the reverse, the card was produced between 1904 and 1918. The most info I could find about the Jags was that they were a minor league team in the New York State League. They played under the name Jags because they represented three cities - Amsterdam, Johnstown, and Gloversville (1902 and 1905-1907.)

I could be completely wrong, though. :) The 'T' on the cap doesn't seem to hold up to my research. Although it could mean "tri" (city.)

I posted the question on Net 54, didn't really get a exact answer. One member said it could be from 1910-19, a wise ass also posted "MCI or the former phone company".

Something different. I don't remember if I posted these on a previous board but I think they are kind of neat and are a good addition to my Reds collection. They are M 101-2's.

So far, 7/200 for the M101-5 set and 5/200 for the M101-4 set. I have Chief Bender's M101-4 incoming, which will put me at 6. There is a large amount of cards on eBay right now, so I hope to pick up a few more.

As a side project for the set, I am trying to acquire one copy of each back advertisement. I currently have four unique types (blank-back, Herpolsheimer, Weil Baking, and Famous & Barr.) I'm watching one of the scarcer backs (one of my favorites,) so I would like to acquire it.

Re: OFFICIAL- Vintage Pickup Thread.

These two 1951 Red Backs came while I was at the beach. The Fain is NM and the Holmes is EX (it is the 52A Boston variation). I needed the variation to complete the set and the Fain was an upgrade.
