This "White Letter Last Name Variation" was part of a trade I made with death2inspections. Figured this Gaylord should be owned by the Gaylord.

Think this is just a misalignment of the hologram. The one on his stats should be shifted up to the white area, and the one on his hat should be on the card above (which was printed upside down). There would have been cards in this box that had no holograms also.

2005 Upper Deck Series 1 Base - I have found mostly just Copyright variations that I can tell. But, some have wording variation's too. Anyone familiar with these at all? See scans.

I got in 4 copies of this card (#449) for $1.67 shipped from a seller hoping to get variations A and B. I got lucky and got them both. Just need 25 more cards to finish off the 1973 Topps set. Looking to trade with another 1973 collector as I have 127 dupes for trade. PM me if interested. Thanks.

Never seen or heard of this before, but now I have a ton of cards to check!

I have noticed that 2016 Bowman Platinum base (not the prospects, just the base set) have a different finish depending on where they came from. Cards from the fat packs have more of a foil finish, where the cards from the blasters are almost more refractor-like. I can't get it to scan, but it is blazingly obvious in person.
I'm DelBacon on Sportlots, tons of great cards!

I noticed back in 2010 that the Turkey Red inserts in topps update can be found with different amounts of surface texter.

Is there any way to tell a 1990 Donruss ERROR case from the outside?

Were the "better" errors like Baines Ryan only in 10 box hobby cases?

My minor contribution for today - the 1989 Topps Glossy Rookies set has variations with * or ** on back.
Collecting Roberto Alomar. Over 4000 unique cards, but always looking for those I'm missing!

I just recently found out Topps Big has variations on the back. I knew of 88 and 89 (I think) but 90 is a new one. I bought 3 in hopes of getting the copy I didn't yet have ... and got it!

Hmmm...I knew of 1990 and I have both versions of that year, but didn't think 1989 had * and ** versions? I've never seen those, but then again haven't looked extremely hard.

I actually spoke out of turn - I don't know if 1989 has any. It wouldn't shock me though!

I thought these were noted on the first page but looks like they aren't.

1988 Topps Big is noteworthy since many players have more than two versions. Example: A* or B* but sometimes also *B* or poorly airbrushed portions of code, duplicated copyright lines, etc.

    1989 Topps Big is * or **

    1990 Topps Big is A* or B*, C* or D*
