Wanted to know what the 1999 Pacific Player's Choice cards look like... is the only difference from the base card the stamp that they carry? Anyone have a scan of their player???

This six-card partial-parallel was given away to attendees of the 1999 MLBPA Players Choice Awards. Each card has a special "Players Choice" stamp on the front, and is serial-numbered to the production figures listed below on the back.
10 Randy Velarde
41 Cal Ripken, Jr.
47 Pedro Martinez
88 Manny Ramirez
112 Alex Fernandez
128 Jose Lima

Also this card.
1999 Topps Chrome Early Road to the Hall Refractors Error Not a Refractor and not serial numbered. The Refractors were serial numbered to 100.

I've seen these pop up here and there, Jeter & Vlad for instance. I've always wondered if the actual serial numbered versions are in short supply (<100) if a sheet missed a serial number or refractor finish. Though late '90's Topps/Finest have pretty consistent irregularities with "refractor" designations on non-versions. I'd probably lean a base insert (w/designation). This one is on COMC:

I picked through a Palmeiro collection. If anyone is looking for a Starting 9, let me know, and I can put you in touch with the seller.

There has been a really good Rafey collection on eBay the last month or two. Some nice pieces if you collect him.

Here is my contribution to the '99 Topps Chrome Early Road non-refractor "Refractor" discussion. I agree, these things are pretty rare to come by. I have seen other players before as well but not very often. I have no clue how these things ended up like this but you guys have some very interesting reasoning behind them. Thank you for the insight

Nice!

I should have my steal of the year arriving today (it came early this year) - '90's 1/1 style. I'll update later.
