Is he now the best pitcher in baseball this year? leading the league in Wins, SO and ERA.

Also will the Angels be able to resign him? My gut says no.

Yes at this moment, he is the best pitcher in baseball and it's not even close.

My fantasy team says Yes.

Weaver is the anchor of my staff, that also includes Josh Johnson, Clayton Kershaw, Jonathan Sanchez, Zach Britton, Matt Harrison and Randy Wolf, in a league that counts quality starts instead of wins.

Needless to say, I am killing the league in pitching (plus I am currently in 1st place).

So, here's to Jered this year and MANY more years to come......in LAofA.

But honestly, it's great to see Weaver get the love he deserves. He had an insane season last year, but was heavily overshadowed by Felix....this season he looks even better. It's nice to see him go so deep in the games this early in the season, so he will have a strong arm and will have no problem pitching at least 7 innings every start. It's also nice to see him already have half his wins of last season too, I don't believe he got too much run support which is why he finished with just 13 wins and a 3.01 ERA in 34 starts.

Sadly, this is too true.

I think Jered will be pressured to test the market by Boras but keep in mind, when he held out as a draft pick it was Jered's decision to sign despite Boras' advice. From seeing him interact with fans over the last few spring trainings, I feel Jered is truly happy to be an Angel. My guess is he will sign for Cliff Lee type money...just hope it's with the Halos.
