Nice Lot of Bagwell cards you got in.

Thanks. I have had these checked off in COMC for a bit. Just searched Bagwell and started with the cheapest ones, adding them to the shopping cart as I searched. Then I got permission to get some, so then I started doing offers. That is such an awesome feature, cuz most sellers accepted my offers right away. I got a lot more cards than I had originally intended to get. Plus I really wanted to take advantage of the shipping deal they ran. Saved like 20 bucks there.

And theres a few in here from some FCB members, like that Donruss Preferred Tin, and a few game used. Thanks nerdherd020 and descott77 for those :)

Now some more scans...

I had been putting off scanning these for a bit. Its time consuming and I feel guilty sitting at the computer each night. Luckily the weather is starting to get worse, so I dont feel so bad about it. I'm probably not gonna get any more for a while, and so I plan on using the Bagwell master list and reorganize my collection. Finally nail down which sets and years some of my cards belong to. Then I'll rename my cards correctly, and organize them based on the master list. It will be a nice project for this winter.

So, here's the last of my comc/fcb pickups...

Just when I thought I was done scanning this week, I opened my mailbox to find a sweet addition to the collection from mattfieser, a fellow Baggy collector over in WA. 2 collectors in the Northwest, who would have thought??

I don't see how you can match that 93 Finest Refractor but love to see all the others too. Here's one from me, gonna get a group of cards scanned together later.

Dude...is the card from your last post of scans from the 1992 high 5? If so...I'm wondering which version that is. If it is what I think it is....I've never seen it.

Even though I cannot confirm with pictures, i do believe that this card (or sticker, actually)

Red%20Foley%20Stickers%205.jpg

is the 1993 Red Foley Stickers #5 Jeff Bagwell. The High 5 you refer to, i think is this one

High%205%20Prototype.jpg

and on the back mine says Prototype.

My bad. Sorry...I had a brain fart. I have them then. Man...that's how you know you have too many when you start forgetting something like that.

I was going through your posts of your new pick ups and I'm amazed at some of the stuff you didn't already have considering your card total. But at least it's cool to be able to still pick them up. Wish I was in that spot still. But lately I've been getting lucky and seeing cheapies I didn't have or seen before. Few and far in between though. Keep truckin man...

Actually, that prototype is not the same as the actual High 5 decals, which I think there is two...One in a team set, and one as a Superstar set. They come in complete sheets of 6 players, with a larger decal on the back. The prototypes were distributed in magazines, I think...

Its a shame they were only made the one year

Don't you just love that MLB & MLBPA in the upper right.

Its nice to see some clarification on these cards. So the regulars were only available in the team sets? Gotta find em. But based on our conversation of them here on FCB, I'm sure they will pop up on ebay for an outrageous price any minute now

Predator - Yeah, its amazing how one can have such a huge collection, then not have even the most basic of cards. But thats how my collection has always been. Before I found COMC, no one really sold commons or base cards. I could find Bagwell inserts all day long. But find a base card? good luck.

To your first point...ain't that the truth.

Yeah...see around here, I can walk into a shop and find a slew of base cards. Plus all the lots I've purchased over the years have been heavy with them. But try finding an insert is like pulling teeth. It's harder in Houston to find good Bagwell or Biggio cards for sale than it probably is where you live. Several player collectors here would have an absolute field day at my local shops. But try finding astros stuff around here and you are stuck with base and rookie cards.

So...to clarify(magic, nosterbor, and Gwynn545) the regular cards were only distributed via the team sets? So If I find one of those, I've got what I need seeing as how I already have the superstar version?

That's semi-correct. You have the Prototype version.
The Superstar Version of Bagwell is on the Sheet with Other NL Infielders (superstars): Bagwell, Clark, Johnson, Sandberg, Williams
The Team Version is on the Astros Team Sheet: Bagwell, Caminiti, Biggio, Luis Gonzalez, Harnish

I have that too thanks to a fellow board member here. It's not even opened. I need the regular version still.
