Easy answer to this- All Daisuke matsuzaka RC autos.

Completely agree with this..when he came into the league I couldn't get one of his autos because they were just too expensive, but I paid almost $50 for his jersey card or so, I paid $8 a different time for 3 of the same jersey cards. So now I have 4 that in total I paid $58 for...

Lol I believe that! His prices have fallen so much :D

LOL. I thought this was going to be a thread about the size of older cards!
I was going to post pics of original Turkey Red cabinet cards, '69-'71 Topps Giants and '83-87 Donruss Action All Stars.

Every single bowman chrome auto that sold for $50 or more at release (aside from Pujols, Longoria and possibly a few others)

I understand that it's a bit different, but this one didn't do too bad.

It used to get a lot more, if I weren't so lazy I'd look it up in an old Beckett!

1986 Donruss Rookies Canseco
I loved that card. The cheesy mustache, the classic '86 Donruss design, the first 40/40 man mystique. It came out right in the peak of my collecting days as a kid and it was easily the biggest card of the time along with the '85 Mac. I still have the one I got in '86, so until I sell I haven't lost anything.

Gonna give basketball a shot. I used to LOVE this card as a huge Rockets fan. Busted my arse to get one back when I was in college and collected basketball, spent around $150ish. I still wait for one to pop up on eBay so I can own a piece of my past, but I could probably get it for closer to $30 now.

Yeah that select Terrell Davis used to go for huge amounts. And how about any Barry bonds rookie? From like $40-50 each to like $1

If you bought Jose Ortiz in 2000, you spent 2001 trying to repair that gaping hole where your ****** used to be. I pulled this card at that time and sold it for $120, but INSTEAD OF BEING ABLE TO TELL THE FUTURE, I bought 10 of his Topps Stars RC's that were getting $15 ea at the time since I figured they would increase in price at a higher percentage. ::facepalm:: ::facepalm::

Gonna go way back, 90 Upper Deck Kevin Maas, sold at $5 all day long for two months. 1990 Donruss David Justice sold at $8 for about the same amount of time.

My best opposite situation was getting two Donruss Signature David Ortiz RC for a $1 at TwinsFest the offseason after the Twins released him.

They weren't HUGE, but other than the Red Sox angle, I never understood why Rick Asordian RCs went for $20+ for most of the year or so they were hot... :?

And the "better" 1991 Stadium Club cards went for $20ish or so for awhile...
