Thanks. With the new additions, we are up to 56 different cataloged. The values on these are tough. Oddball prices tend to really go up only when they are rare AND they are officially checklisted. If they are not officially checklisted, many collectors make them a nice to have, whereas if they are officially checklisted, you'll see the item appear in a collector's signature on FCB as one of their most wanted items. Being that these are tough to find but not rare and they are not officially checklisted, prices tend to be all over the board. $5 for star players is a good price, but I don't think $15 in unreasonable.

Hey I was doing some research for a blog post on my Yount player collection blog and came across this thread. I thought I'd add what I know.

I bought a Robin Yount card a while back and it came with this photocopied page. Looks like you could buy a whole set at one time. Since the on going checklist lists multiple cards for the same player it might be that the total 50,000 possible print was for the player only not the type of card used. Also my package came with the gold sticker on the card holder and I guess only 300 completer sets were produced. There is also a full player checklist on the sheet. I hope this helps.

Wonder what the 92 is? Rickey has 91 Donruss and Upper Deck. 90 Score. Unless they were all made in 92? I don't have any boxes to look at right now. So if they were all made in 92, which version does the set include?

I have this. Offhand, I dont remember which card it is, but its not a 92. The only thing special about it, is a gold sticker on it and #/300

The cards used to make these ranged from 1990 to 1992. But the Tri Card product was released in 1992 and then the MLBPA, Upper Deck, Leaf, and Donruss sued. I know that the MLBPA lost it's case, but I think the other three won, or at least got an injunction.

I did a whole write up on the Yount card on my Yount blog you can see it here. http://theyountcollector.blogspot.com/2014/01/1992-dads-kid-tri-card.html I've got photos and links to documents.

And I didn't mean to suggest only 300 were made. But it looks like only 300 completer sets with 36 boxes with matching serial numbers were offered. I'm not sure how they were sold or distributed. But looking on here and at ebay sales there were at least a couple thousand of each player made using multiple cards from different years.

You can also add a 1991 Fleer Will Clark , I passed on it a few years back thinking I'd see it again, wrong. I have the UD and Donruss, but am curious if there is variation packages of them as well.
