hey Leaf I thought you used to have a $50 minimum on key cards in a product like this. The fact that the main card out of a $200 pack could sell for $19 is just ridiculous.

Looks like the Blanda is the right grade.... just the wrong company. PSA 8's have sold for $65 and $69 via BINs

Jim,
First $30 is the minimum market value for any buyback card in best of football. I bliebe your Blanda closing price is a fluke. SMR on that card is $75. PSA's bring $65-70 consistently.
I believe this exact card sold on ebay 7/7/2012 (Item 290736875418) for $50.99 (free shipping)........ I would pay $40 for it now! (let me know if buyer doesnt pay!).

In my opinion (as a breaker of exquisite, cup , treasures, etc), breaking with a 70% ROI is hardly a "kick to the junk" relative to other products in the market. I figured everyone by now knew that these products were high risk high reward items... trust me, you could easily have done worse (as the worst case yields $250)...
Break 3 cases of exquisite football and you will feel a real kick to the junk (i paid $1400 and the entire case brought $397)....
BG

* p.s.- factory cost is $535, worst case yields $250, best case $7000-8000. That seems a fair value proposition, if you are looking to gamble a bit....

Jim,
Also, it appears you let all the cards rip at .99 and let it fly. In this market, that is risky in and of itself... BIN prices=15-100% higher depending on your patience...

I did let it fly, but being football season I figured it was the time to be able to do it. I've taken the BIN/BO approach with all other Leaf products this year and simply couldn't take the slow and steady approach with everything. I certainly did take a gamble and I'm okay with that, but the $19 ending price frankly shocked me and pissed me off. I was really expecting $50-70. The buyer paid so unfortunately I can't take you up on your offer.

Football collector base is smaller than baseball. Auctions are almost never a good idea on non niche stuff.

Lesson learned. Regardless, I'm kicking ass with Leaf Ultimate and that will more than make up the loss on this product. Seriously, with Leaf Ultimate I busted 2 cases, sold about 24 cards and I'm already at break-even!

You paid 1070 and got back 732.86 while starting everything at .99 on ebay? That seems like a pretty sold ROI....

Not sure what you are upset about.

Awesome. Thanks for using your first post on FCB to tell me how losing money is a good ROI. I was "upset" that in a product of this magnitude (and cost) that the main card out of the pack could sell for $17. Regardless, this was a pretty dead topic and I'm over it. Doing great with the other Leaf products I've busted and learned my lesson on how to sell football products.
