Thanks guys. Yeah, they are definitely fun to look at...

separate topic - anyone here pick up any of the Piazza stuff ebay seller cutsignaturesandmore has been listing on ebay? Lot of neat stuff, including a significant number of jersey numbered cards. I've picked up a few here and there but nothing big, just stuff to fill out rainbows and the like.

I was hoping to land the 98 Ultra Platinum Medallion #485 PZ but missed it. Seems like a random assortment of buyers, with a couple of guys whose IDs I don't recognize but they went big on a few cards!

mailday...I think this may have been Mike's first 1/1 in a Marlins uniform...not sure exactly when 1998 Ultra Series 2 was released, but according to baseballcardpedia.com 1998 Leaf Rookies & Stars was released in December of that year.

Really impressive stuff guys. Those Crusades are incredible.

I have this because of the obvious.

Wowzers, that is a tough one. Nice grade too.

Last raw one I saw sold in the $50-60 range, i missed out. I'm sure it was a Griffey or Frank guy that bid it up :)

I thnk that was a pretty good price. Not a lot of Marlins patch cards and arguably the two best catchers of that generation. argument can also be made for Posada.

or it could have been a Bagwell guy. Some of his stuff has been extra active lately. This is one i need too.

Picked this up at the flea market today. I am pretty sure this is Piazza on the cover. Can you guys verify this for me? And anyone need it?

Here's a link to Beckett's description of the 1997 Score Stand and Deliver. The Gold foil with silver letters were part of a redemption program. I believe an estimated 225 sets were made of the Gold foil with silver letters, for the Gold foil with red letters it is unknown (perhaps <25). Picked it up from a boardmember who bought a fully-framed set sometime last year.

http://www.beckett.com/baseball/1997/score-stand-and-deliver/?ref=cj

Randomly inserted in series two packs at a rate of 1:71 (retail) and 1:47 (hobby reserve), this 24-card set features color player photos printed on silver foil card stock. The set is broken into six separate 4-card groupings. Groups contain players from the following teams: 1-4 (Braves), 5-8 (Mariners), 9-12 (Yankees), 13-16 (Dodgers), 17-20 (Indians) and 21-24 (Wild Card). The four players featured within the Wild Card group are from "lesser" teams not given a shot at winning the World Series. Each of these cards, unlike cards 1-20, has a "Wild Card" logo stamped on front. Collectors were then supposed to gather up the particular group that won the 1997 World Series, in this case - the Florida Marlins. Since none of the featured teams won, the 4-card Wild Card group was designated as the winner. The winning cards could then be mailed into Pinnacle for a special gold upgrade version of the set, framed in glass.

BunchOBull, how rare are those samples exactly? I know you've had them for a while but would love the backstory if there is one.

some recent pickups - had been looking for this one for a while, then like 3 popped up on ebay in one month earlier this year...

@BunchOBull, how rare are those samples exactly? I know you've had them for a while but would love the backstory if there is one.

My understanding is that the Prized Samples are more rare than the pack inserted Preferred Prized collections; something like 30-50 of each produced. That said, I don't remember where and when I received those figures, but they're tough for sure. The Elite Prime numbers are much more plentiful, but still not overly available.

That perfect 10 is HUGE! Congrats!
