So I have been watching a 90s insert for my PC. The serial number is either first, last, or jersey number. The price is twice the average price and has a bid.

Do you try to acquire these for PC or Prospecting purposes? If so at what premium?

Important enough to make a note and smile, not important enough to pay a premium beyond a couple bucks

I try to get those cards if I see them, but that's largely because there are so few Gomes cards available that I want. Gives me something else to chase. As with others, though, I won't pay a massive premium.

Was somewhat bummed to see a 1/70 rookie card of Gomes sell for a $70 BIN last week. Ordinarily goes for $10-15, and I had just offered the seller $25.

The only serial number I will pay a premium as the first or last number of the stated print run is 1/1. Other than that, I would not be willing to pay extra.

I enjoy jersey number cards and I will also chase serial numbers with the jersey number and zero as well (for example - 60, 66, etc). I will often have to pay a premium, as others collect the same way. i am disappointed when i lose them, because I have a lot, but as with 1/1s and lower serial number cards, I have been able to remind myself that i will never have them all, so stop crying when I lose one here and there.

I will buy the "bookend" serial numbers, but certainly don't pay much of a premium or at all.

I've never really thought about any others, but you could probably make a number of them special in some way. Maybe debut, last, award, birth, death or other other significant years (1970, 1984, etc). Birth day/month or month/year (2/14) or (6/48). That would take too much work to bother with for me though.

Low end is my example. Is there a sliding scale and as values increase the premium decreases?
Regular---special
$5---$10
$10---$15
$15---$19
$20---$24
$25---$28
$30---$33
$40---$43
$50---$52

I don't know, maybe something likd this. Depends on the card, and also depends on the total number (a #1 /250 is worth a $5 bump, but maybe not a #1 /25...it's already rare enough, so a #5/25 is just as cool)

I like Jersey # cards of my guys. I'll pay some premium , and as others have mentioned , a larger % on lower value cards , a slight bump on higher dollar cards.

Specific serial numbers do not factor into my decision to purchase, largely because the print runs for the cards I target are usually low. I am not going to be picky over a particular serial number or whether there is a minor chip or defect in the card. I may never see another copy again.

Jersey number, 1/xx and xx/xx are nice, but I don't search for them or pay more for them. If I happen to get them, then sweet! If not, sweet! When I was collecting Scott Diamond for awhile this year, I actually came across 1/xx on a few of his cards. The most notable one was 0001/2012 for his 2012 Update Gold. Then I had a few 01/xx for his Tribute autos. I had considered looking for as many 1/xx Tribute cards as I could, but I didn't want to take the time and pay the possible premium for them

Ah, but what if it's an "eBay 1/1!!!"?
