I'd love to own one some day. But I'd never pay close to 4 grand for a copy that bad.

$4K - a fool and his money are separated! ;)

For under a buck, you can have a NRMT-MT copy of the card. Works for me for the PC to have a reprint since I don't care enough to drop big bucks on a real 52T mantle plus Topps has beaten the 52T mantle to death with all their reprints of it that I don't consider it as cool anymore as I did when I was a younger collector.

I agree. Its lost a lot of the the bad a$$ness when they reprinted it like crazy

I Was turned off my reprints back in the day. There is NOTHING like the real thing. Im 32, that card had mystique when I started collecting in 1989. And it still does. If I had the money id buy one. not as beat up as the one in the thread, if anything that card IMO keeps getting cooler.

When a card is that badly mangled, how easy is it to spot if it's counterfeit? Seems like a lot of the telltale signs could be masked by the damage.
