How rare are 1997 Select Company Samples? I just snagged 2 on COMC. I know they are fairly hard to find. Here are the 2 I got.

Two new pickups.

Surprisingly never knew about the Schmidt. Totally love it when I can add pre 90s promos.

The Floyd is a 1/1 I believe and was which was sent to MLB for approval before being issued.

Promo

My favorite and most rare Jeter Promo I own the 1996 Leaf Preferred Steal Bronze Promo#40 Derek Jeter. I did own the error copy but I wanted the money for other cards I needed so after the first auction ended with no bids at $5,000.00 I was going to keep it till I was offered $4,000.00 but he wanted the ebay bucks I guess so I had to relist there. Not a bad $2,000.00 profit seeing I bought it for $1,500.00 and after fees made a little more than $3,500.00. My steal was getting the actual Bronze Promo for $70.00 late last year. I am thinking about buying the Griffey as I know the owner of that but there seems to be a lack of interest here as I tried to help other collectors out and the $1,500.00 it will cost me I might not get back and I am not a Griffey collector and could use the $1,500.00 for my Jeter needs.

I had someone ask me about the 1997 Topps Screen Plays acrylic card. Why is the yellow ribbon version (at the bottom) harder to come by than the blue ribbon (unmarked promo) version? Anyone?

I've had this 1998 Donruss Signature Series Andruw Jones for awhile now and I am wondering if there is anyone else who had cards made but was not included in the set. I assume Andruw either took to long to return the cards or he was cut from the final checklist last minute. This is the only one I've seen and I'd love to know if the century marks parallel exist.

Reading a July 1990 "baseball card" magazine and an interesting reader write was included.

Someone wrote in asking about a "test" marketed card of Canseco from 1989 score and they described how it differed from the regular issue card.

From the description, it totally fits the un marked promo card everyone calls it now.

But back then, even the magazine called it a test issue.

Any chance it isn't a promo and is a text issue that for back doored?

What were the differences of it compared to the regular?

From what I remember, he mentioned the copyright location, color of text and color of card stock on the reverse.

What were the differences of it compared to the regular?

1989 Score:

Test/Prototypes: #1 Jose Canseco. Copyright line is inside text box. Text color is different on back. There is another promo thread on here showing it.
Promos: cards 221-330 missing copyright line on back. Issued to dealers, 1 card per order form. Tough to locate, Biggio has been most plentiful. Nolan Ryan, Bo Jackson, Gary Carter exist as well.

I may have posted this before but here it is again.

I am looking for a Frank Thomas 1999 Pacific promo PR10. The PSA POP report states that there is 1 PSA 8, 1 PSA 9 and 1 PSA 10. After many, many hours of research I have yet to find a picture of or any information about this card. Could it be an unlisted promo for the 1999 Pacific Revolution set? Any help? Anyone?

A lil' different pick up. Wanted the lot for the box. So it just mentions Clark's name on the back, but IMO is an unique item.

Looks to be a very early/promotional box from 1999 Collect a Books. The front has Mattingly and Canseco ( DonnieBaseball mouschi ) pictured. I think the images shown were never released and predate the Promos that are out there. clarkfan may have more knowledge , but I hadn't seen it before and thought it was neat item. It came w the Clark and Williams promos , but really just wanted the box for some reason.
