PLEASE DON'T POST ANY QUESTION IN THIS THREAD AS THIS WILL BE THE POSTING OF THE GAMES AND ODDS THREAD, FOR EASIER READING OF THE GAMES FOR THE CONTEST.
Ok were're almost full so time to let you guys know how this will contest works. Prizes will be announced before the end of the tournament.
I'll take the list of people Randomize it 3 times on Random.org and then I do the same for the 68 teams in the Tournament (I'm including the bye-in teams games)
You will then be match up will be given a team for the first round of the tournament. I'll then posts team and odds for that day of play. Here's how it works for you and your team and yours appointments team.
Rules for your team if they are the favorite in the match-up they need to beat the spread. They can't tie(push) but need to have more then the odds posted per game round by round.
But if your the underdog in the match-up you actually have 2 ways of winning.
1. by winning outright,
2. by the favorite not beating the spread.
if the second thing happens to the favorite, which means the favorite won but did not beat the odds posted, then the one who had the losing team picks up the winning team and moves on to the next round. Examples of how this is are below.
NOTE THE TEAM YOU START WITH, JUST MY NOT BE THE TEAM YOU END UP WITH BY THE END OF THE TOURNAMENT IF YOU SURVIVE EACH ROUND.
Last years winner won mostly with the team they started but then switched teams and won it all.
Really simple thing I posts odds favorites need to beat the odds. And for the underdog teams if you win out right you move on with your team. Or if the favorite does not hold up there end but wins you get that team and move on.
I this the same way for even the 4 bye in games of this Tournament
EXAMPLE how the favorite can only win
Wisconsin is a -12 odds for the game posted meaning they are the favorite then, they would need to win by 13 or more in order with whom ever has Wisconsin to take them to the next round. But if they don't win by 13 or more it is a lose for them and who ever has them loses them and it goes to the person who has the underdog and moves on even though Wisconsin won the game. and if they push have they lose to and the team changes hands.
Example win for the favorite. odds are -12 so they need 13 or more to win for who ever has them in order to move on keeping Wisconsin.
Wisconsin 72...... Pine Tar has this team in round one.
Coastal Carolina 59...... Alexs64 has this team in round 1
as you can see Wisconsin won my at least 13 so the person who had them (pine tar) wins and moves on with Wisconsin. And Alexs64 is out of the contest.
NOTE: Half points are as follows. If the above scenario was that Wisconsin was -11.5 odds favorite then you just need 12 points to win and move on.
Wisconsin 72
Coastal Carolina 60 so it is still a win for Pine tar and he moves on. Because they won by 12 which is what they needed to win for Pine Tar and Alexs64 loses and is out of the contest.
How the underdog team wins or how you as the underdog can get your opponents team and move on.
with the above scenario
Wisconsin is -12 favorite for pine tar
Wisconsin 72 .....Pine Tar
Coastal Carolina 73....... Alexs64 Obviously the underdog won here and Alexs64 moves on to the next round with his original team and Pine Tar is out the contest.
Wisconsin is -12 favorite for Pine Tar
Wisconsin 72...... Pine Tar
Coastal Carolina 60........ Alexs64 So here the margin of victory for Wisconsin is only 12 even though they won. So this is a lose for Pine Tar since his team did not win by 13 or more. Thus even though Alexs64 had Coastal Carolina and his team lost. He would pick up Wisconsin and move on to the next round with Wisconsin and Pine Tar is out of the contest.
So as you can see even if your team is an underdog and they lose you can actually still win and move on but only if the above scenarios happen.
I hope you all can understand how this will work.
So if your in the play-in games just use this format for your game. Since I'll post odds for those games as well. Also note that you just may be a 1 and done but this is what makes this contest fun.
Regards Richard
