So many of you own amazing, unique items in your collections, but it seems like we spend a lot of time just posting pictures of cards on here. I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread where we show off pictures of different items that we think no one else owns. Here are the qualifications: (my Enter button still doesn't work on FCB - is it just me?) 1. Baseball-related 2. You think no one else has another one like it 3. No cards stamped "1/1" (that's too easy!). I don't want to get any more specific. I'll show off a few of mine to start off. Sorry in advance if this is a crappy idea for a thread!

Paul Maholm autographed, original art. MLB certified. This image was used on the scoreboard at PNC Park when he came up to bat:

About ten years ago, retired Pirates would sign at PNC Park before games. Frank Thomas and Steve Blass were sitting next to each other, and I wanted to get both on my "random retired Pirates bat".

Thomas signed first, adding his usual "The Original One" inscription. When I handed Blass the bat, he looked it over, looked at me, rolled his eyes, and started writing. Then, he shoved the bat in Thomas' face and jokingly yelled, "Who the hell do you think you are? If you can write it, so can I!!!"

Here's what he handed me:

A piece of the Metrodome roof under which Frank hit his 1st and 500th home runs...he was kind enough to inscribe it at a free signing because he thought it was so cool.

Several years ago, I had the pleasure of interviewing Cat Whitfield. Before the interview I was told that Cat was aware of his example as a pro baseball player and gave consideration to the way he conducted himself in front of young people. Speaking to him personally I loved his gentle spirit. His name may not mean much, but in Spring Training of 1980, Cat beat out Cal Ripken, Jr, at his position. Cal only saw time at the position when Cat got married.

After completing the interview I told Cat of how I had picked up a Charlotte O's jersey worn during the 1980 Southern League championship season. The jersey had since been signed by Jim Palmer and Cal Ripken, Jr. Cat informed me that plans were in the works for the 30th anniversary reunion for the Charlotte O's. Cat graciously offered to take my jersey to the reunion to get it signed by the former Charlotte players in attendance. Here are the pictures:

Front page of the Sept. 30 1945 Chicago Sun newspaper the last time the Cubs won the pennant. My mom found it at an auction down in a box of old newspapers someone had saved and won it pretty cheaply since it was burried in the box and not on top. Can't imagine there's many of them around.

2002 Topps Heritage buyback redemption (from a board member I believe)

2010 Heritage Samples are tough.

2001 Heritage football "Sign Here." I don't collect football but this one is just too cool. I used to own the 2002 Heritage Alex Rodriguez Sign Here, and the only others I have seen are 2001 Cliff Floyd and Phil Rirrrrutto examples. Would love to get my Arod back!

Here's a scan from my old bucket.

Im not sure the production run on these. I've checked the psa registry & the top carlton collectors don't have it, yet they are listed in the annual.
