Yup, just waiting for the ebay free listing promotion to pop up! Moving out your way (Boston area) this Friday. Looking to lighten the load where I can! ;)

About 200 new 1998 Tek patterns listed by cardboardstars.com on eBay. Good variety of players although shuffled like a deck of cards; decent prices. Don't see any hidden diffractors. He knows the difference.

Yep, always interested in picking up Galarraga 98 Teks. Willing to do the pattern #'s cited there and would be interested in other patterns as well if you come across them. What is the Beckett BV? I haven't kept track of list prices since the 90's. I believe a card is worth what is can be sold for.

In re: Dave Justice he has a die-hard following. My last batch of Justice teks sold at the BIN in March 2014 at $10 per, at $7.95 the other Justice pattern that I had already sold earlier this afternoon. So it appears that based upon what the market will bear I am not out of line.

Are you the A Galarraga 1998 TEK collector who needed these at one time. Have you knocked any off list?
Do same card #/ Pattern # 98 TEKs now suddenly have a 5x base premium? Interesting......news to me..

I thought about going for one of the Mo Vaughn cards for my Red Sox collection but I did not want to spend much. I ended up passing and they went for $18 apiece.

I would much rather trade than buy 1998 Tek diffractors. I have about 40% of the 8100-card 1998 Tek diffractor series. That's a 60% chance I need one that you have. If you can use any of my extra diffractors listed below, send me a PM or e-mail to [email protected] and let me know what diffractors you have to trade and what cards you are interested in. If you have something I need, I will trade in your favor. I'm willing to take a duplicate back to balance a trade. I am not looking to sell any diffractors. I do have some extra base cards of all players in the 1998 Tek series that are for sale. if you haven't sent me a want list recently, try me!

For now if an ebay seller like the one selling the 1998 TEK Pedro Martinez Pattern# 64 Diffractor cancels all current bids claiming the item was listed incorrectly the seller and item will be reported to ebay. Wouldn't anyone here be doing that......right?

Here below is the response I got from Indo California seller after I asked them why they canceled all bids (*including mine)
Looks like a little "Cancel the Bids and I will pay you this" going on note and the seller just lies to circumvent ebay rules to avoid fees

We decided to send it in with our next beckett grading order.

ok

I didn't realize the Pedro diffractor was pulled off eBay until I saw togaman's post. I'm disappointed as I had it flagged to buy. I'm not in the business of contacting a seller and having them pull an item from auction. We could have a discussion about the ethics of a potential buyer asking a seller to do that -- personally I don't think it's the right thing to do, but for the life of me I can't understand why a seller would do it. Stupid pills maybe. Worst case scenario for the seller is eBay cracking down on them. That practice does cost eBay money in fees and that could spur them to action. Or the seller being ripped off by the buyer for an item no longer covered by an eBay guarantee. Perhaps if the seller is really desperate for a quick buck, and can't wait for the auction to finish in two or three days, but when an item has already been bid up by several people -- the stupid pills must have kicked in.

Generally, the "contact the seller with a message" act works well with sellers who may not know what they're selling or what the value really is of their item. I know people do this all the time, and it is sad because generally the seller loses out. It's sneaky. A guy on the PSA board who collects wrestling cards pulls this all of the time and admits to it.

There's no excuse with all of the information available for a seller to take an offer that is low. However, if it's a fair or more-than-fair deal, perhaps an offer too good to pass up, then they have to make the decision.

Now that I think of seller name this is the second or third time this particular seller has ended auction early. The last two were ended last day with one because I was the only early bidder a Bowman Platinum Red #d to 25 card and they must have gotten scared a #d to 25 card might go for a buck. Oh well.
