I'm currently behind on a lot of sets but most only have a few cards left. They are proving difficult to acquire.

The first full set I put together was 2011 Topps series 1 & 2. The last card in the set was #145 Freddie Freeman, it gave me fits trying to get it.

For anyone else who puts sets together do you have any set that sticks out as hard to finish because of "that one card"?

1987 Topps Andy Hawkins. One kid at school had one but wouldn't trade it because he didn't want me to finish the set. I don't think I ended up pulling one because Santa brought me a factory set for Christmas. Santa wastes his money and children are cruel.

Can't stand making sets, even as a kid.

But one 87 topps set I did I recall needing a Jim leyland card.

I currently have 2 two basketball parallel sets that are missing one card each. Been working on these sets for 10-15 years. Could've had one finished, but nope. Haven't seen a copy of the other card. Both sets are numbered to 100.

2014 Topps Heritage miguel Cabrera action variation. I had one from 2011 bowman purple refractors Addison reed, took me almost 3 years to find that common

Playing it close to the vest. Smart.

Some of the 2010 Allen & Ginter black border minis were damn near impossible to find. #319 , the Austin Jackson RC comes to mind.

Luckily the entire mini set is finished now!

I started collecting in 1988 with 1988 Donruss. Took me until 1992 or 1993 to find the one card I was missing, Steve Jeltz:

When I first got heavily into cards in 1981, it was Aurelio Something, Lopez or Rodriguez. When I got back into it in 1991, it was Pat Combs. I opened probably a box worth of Topps packs every week all summer and only got one when I found a shop that sold singles.

1998 Topps Tek #37 Paul O'neill pattern 81. Took me 14 years to get one and a month later I get 2 more pattern 81s in a lot.
