Braves WAR Leaders

Freddie Freeman - 5.7 WAR
Ronald Acuna - 4.5 WAR
Ozzie Albies - 3.7 WAR
Mike Foltynewicz - 3.7 WAR
*Kevin Gausman - 3.4 WAR
Ender Inciarte - 3.3 WAR
Johan Camargo - 3.3 WAR
Nick Markakis - 3.1 WAR

So, we don't have any crazy high MVP caliber (6-8 WAR) seasons among our players this year (if we got a full season out of Acuna we would) but these numbers are very indicative of how much we've improved this season. Last year we only had two players with a 3+ WAR season (Freeman & Ender) while we have eight players who have reached that mark already with 15 games left of the season.

BTW is anyone else surprised to see that Ender already has a higher WAR total than he did last year when he put up career highs in most all offensive categories (avg, OBP, slg%, OPS, runs, hits, HR, SB) including 200+ hits while he's hitting just .262 & .704 OPS this year? Well, apparently the reason for this is that last year he put up the lowest dWAR of his career (despite still winning the gold glove) & this year he's put up his 2nd best dWAR of his career.

Good to see 6/8 position players on there.

These FOX announcers are obviously Nationals fans, saying "Trea Turner clearly stole the base but after the Braves challenge he'll now be called out on a "technicality". They go on to say how they hate when teams challenge plays like that in the first, especially when it's just a technicality.

Seriously...a technicality? His foot came off the base and was tagged...that's a caught stealing and it's always been a caught stealing.

NL ROY Chase

Ronald Acuna - .299 avg/.375 OBP/.587 slg% 25 HR 55 RBI .962 OPS 14 SB (54 XBH 71 Runs) 4.5 bWAR/4.1 fWAR 154 wRC+
Juan Soto - .305 avg/.418 OBP/.536 slg% 20 HR 63 RBI .954 OPS 2 SB (43 XBH 70 Runs) 2.8 bWAR/3.6 fWAR 153 wRC+

Jack Flaherty 8-7 Record 2.86 ERA/3.76 FIP/3.51 xFIP (138.1 IP) 168 SO (10.9 K/9 3.4 BB/9) 1.06 WHIP 3.2 bWAR/2.3 fWAR
Walker Buehler 7-5 Record 2.88 ERA/3.14 FIP/3.17 xFIP (118.2 IP) 131 SO (9.9 K/9 2.4 BB/9) 0.99 WHIP 3.1 bWAR/2.6 fWAR

These four rookies along with Harrison Bader (I didn't post his stats because his value mostly comes from his defense and he doesn't lead in any statistical category except stolen bases) will make up the top 5 in ROY voting. All I know is that Acuna & Soto will fill up the first two spots.

Glad we’re tied. Need a clean inning from Julio.

And we got it.
