Seriously? Wouldn't Travis Shaw would be a more logical prediction? Maybe someone got their Travis' mixed up? :)

Happy to see Swihart at the top though. I think Marrero is going to be solid for Boston, and I'm hoping Barnes too. Ranaudo should be in the mix though also and I think Webster could easily surprise a lot of people as he matures.

About time Bird started getting some love.

The Yankee list has seriously turned over these years. Austin not making the list after the injury and recoery year, Heathcott and Williams failing to fulfill their promise. Banuelos working his way back (and still quite young). No Jagielo despite the good yet injury plagued year. I think the farm is about to deliver.

Thank you for posting these list. Glad to see you over here. I hope you do not mind if I send you a message from time to time to pick your brain on prospects. Here are some of my takes from the AL Central lists:

Indians - I see a solid future lineup but I question if they have the arms in the system to really do long term damage in the division.

White Sox - It will be interesting to see if they can keep their top heavy rotation together.

Tigers - I am in on Travis but do you see any other system bats making any long term impact?

Royals - Love the speed and defense projected lineup but I am really surprised to see Zimmer projected as a bottom of the rotation starter below some of the other names. Is that due to injury concerns?

Twins - Should be a fun team to watch but in the projected rotation, I would have Meyer placed at the top of the rotation. I also do not see Rosario projected in the lineup, is that because he is blocked in the OF?

See: Indians. I am OK with that. This is just my silly, dude who has no idea how real organizations are built opinion, but I am OK with this. I mean, I would love to have more impact arms in the system, but I feel like if you have depth at position players you can always trade for arms from organizations who have a surplus. I think the bonus to that is you can try to snag pitchers who are a little more advanced, and a little less of a risk. TINSTASPP is something I think about when I am about to drop money on a pitching prospects autograph as well...I like to wait until they are a little more along before I take the jump.

Truth be told I am not really familiar with TINSTASPP concept, other than agree with the approach from a card investment approach. I do still buy pitching prospect autos, on the low end, but for a personal collection POV history has shown in the market that chances are much higher of a value decrease even with all-star level performances with very few exceptions. Is TINSTASPP an acronym for something? From my little understanding, I am certainly open to listening more on the concept. How large of a sample before you take a jump? For the purpose of this thread, these are prospect lists. Looking into the AL Central division projected rotations, that is why I said the Indians likely will have on-going issues free agency not being a factor. The Tigers rotation has the established, high-level arms at the moment.

Do you know or understand much of the concept?

Great to see you as a member here.

My understanding is that pitching prospects are pretty volatile in regards to future projections since scouting can only do so much for projections. Lots of variables can derail a pitchers career. So guys who are considered top prospects can flame out pretty quick. Two examples near and dear to me are Chris George (Royals) and Mark Prior.

This is not to say that this does not happen with position players, but with pitchers I guess there are just more moving parts.

As an Indians fan I seem to very rarely have pitchers who are big enough prospects to apply to. The team just does not do well with making starting pitchers. TJ House is seriously the most excited I have been about a homegrown talent in years.

On a related note: I really hope we don't get into an argument about this whole "There Is No Such Thing As a Pitching Prospect" ...I am not in love with it or anything, its just something that sure sounds good in my head...but I recognize it could be (and me), totally off.

Thanks for the post. I just wanted to understand a little more about the take on pitching prospects from your POV and I understood very little of the concept. I must say though, it makes a lot of sense with projections. I have never been shy with investing in prospect arms but have always done so with a quick get in and a quick get out approach. Now collecting pitchers for PC, I only hold established arms. I love collecting baseball cards but I love talking about baseball even more. I hope to hear more of your take in the future.
